Interviewed Feb 2012 (took 1+ week)
I was scheduled for an interview as I turned in my application.
First interview went great, ended up being over an hour only because the manager went into commission and training details.
Was immediately scheduled for a Secondary interview and was told "it's basically just so you can meet the store manager to make sure she likes you as much as I do."
Secondary interview was two days after my first. Also went over an hour for same reason. She told me it could be "up to two weeks before we decide, but then I'll be calling the one's we're hiring, so be expecting that."
Received my "offer call" three days after my secondary interview.

Interviewed Feb 2012 (took 2 days)
I called David's Bridal to see if they were hiring and was told that they were and were holding an open interview in a few days and told me the times. I showed up about an hour early to give myself plenty of time to fill out an application. I left to kill some time and came back at exactly 2:30, when they had me wait for almost 10 minutes for others to show up. There were three interviewees and two employees to interview us. I went in with the Bridal consultant position in mind, and it seemed that the other girls were there for customer service, which they had few hours open for. I was qualified for the bridal consultant position but because I had mentioned a weekend schedule conflict, they told me that I might be wasting my time. I stayed for more questions, saying that I was open to the customer service position as well, which was when they told us that there were about 10 hours/wk available (not enough for one person, let alone three). At this point I had given up hope until they asked "Why David's Bridal?". I told them that basically I love weddings and I love dresses - particularly sewing them, which was when they asked me how I felt about alterations. I had not considered starting in that position because all of my experience is self-taught and non-professional (more of a hobby at first but something I intend to go to school for soon). One woman escorted me out of the interview to get me a card of the (at that time, absent) Alterations manager for me to call the next day. I did so and scheduled a meeting for later that day. I showed her some of my work I've done for myself and she had me do a few sewing tests. After I finished, she asked for my DL and SS card, and we went to another room to fill out a form and make a phone call to some tax... thing. I haven't had many jobs so I was still under the impression that I was still only being considered for the position, not already in. I was asked after the tests and giving my cards if I was still interested and I answered positively. I found out that I was hired though the woman on the phone for the tax thing when she asked what the date of hire was, and I realized that they would not be having me make this call if I wasn't already hired or being hired. The women were very nice and polite and things happened very quickly but they could have been a little more organized and I would have liked to know what was going on and that I had gotten the job for sure without being told by someone outside the company. I am currently awaiting a phone call telling me when I can come in to begin training. This all started Monday, the open interview on Wednesday, and today is Friday.

Interviewed Jan 2009 in Whitehall, PA (took a day)
I dressed up very professionally for the interview. I was asked questions about my past experience and my expectations for working at Davids. Then I was asked what I would say in certain sales situations..like a role playing exercise. I guess I did well because I got a call the next day that I got the job.

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Bismarck, ND (took 1 week)
It was all about what YOU can do for the company. That's all the company cares about. Want my advice? Don't work here. It is not worth the constant degrading by management, who is overly nice to you during the hiring process and if you are selling well. Their attitude changes dramatically if you have a bad couple of weeks.

Negotiation Details
There was no negotiation, minimum wage + commission. Don't be fooled by the manager making promises of $14+/hr, saying that is the average wage of her employees. NOT TRUE.
Other Details
I applied In-Person and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.
