Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 2 weeks)
The interview process was LONG to say the least. Included 2 phone screens, an assessment, and 2 in person interviews. All this for an admissions position. I feel thats a bit much!

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took 4+ weeks)
The interview process overall was satisfactory. The company contacted me. I first interviewed with their Talent manager and proceeded to take test on line as well as four and half hours of interviews with high level individuals. I took notes, send thank you to each individual and followed up with phone calls.
My biggest disappointment was that no one, not the talent manager, not an email, letter of rejection or anything was sent back to me.
Even if I was not the selected individual, I feel this has left a bad taste of unprofessionalism! Would never recommend the school or to interview with them ever.

Interviewed Jan 2012 (took 2 weeks)
I applied for the job through the DeVry website toward the middle of January. I then had to complete a skills and personality assessment, which I guess I did fine on since, shortly after, I received an email from someone in HR CONFIRMING my attendance at their open house. Their open house is actually a group interview in which the senior director of admissions and a manager give a presentation on the school and position and then ask each candidate to stand and say a little bit about themselves. There were about 10 candidates in my group interview. Evidently, two to four of us were asked back for individual interviews.
I interviewed with the same two people from the group interview. They asked about my educational background and work experience and gave me scenario questions. They also filled me in more about the position, benefits, salary, which all sounded very rewarding. It was the first time in several months I actually felt hopeful about starting a respectable career. I felt great about the interview, and they gave me very positive feedback.
The individual interview was on a Tuesday and they said they would get back to me early the following week for a call back. Well, the following Thursday someone in HR did get back to me, to let me know they decided to go with another candidate.
Bottom line, if they tell you they're going to get back to you by a certain time and that time comes and goes without your hearing from them, you probably were not selected for that position. When you're not hearing from them when you're supposed to have, it means they're in the process of offering the position to someone else and conducting a background check and drug test on them. They're making sure their chosen candidate is not a meth-addicted molester. Only after that process is complete will they let you know you weren't chosen.
I am very disappointed about not getting this position, and particularly by how great the interviewers made me feel about my being a great fit for the position.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Addison, IL (took 2 days)
Was called for a brief screen and set up a phone interview. Phone Interview, which included situational questions and things like why devry? what are your strengths? How would you approach a situation in which the student was not interested? and the same ones others have posted here.
Was told at the end of the phone interview that I would be set up with an on site interview with the director and assistant director of admissions. The onsite interview was harder and more intimidating. Director did most of the talking. I knew in the middle of the meeting that I would not take the job if I got an offer. Felt like the dude was nice because he had too not because he wanted too.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Phoenix, AZ (took 6+ weeks)
Just be patient... A week after I applied I had an initial phone interview with the recruiter (very nice and transparent) then met with the National Director a few days later. I never felt I was in an interview, she made the atmosphere very relaxed and conversational. We spoke for about 3 hours and I felt very comfortable with her, the various aspects of the position and the working environment. Formal questions only dealt with the specifics of my previous position but the rest of the time we were able to get a good sense of each others character.
It was refreshing to have such a relaxed interview after some of the other rigid formats I'd attended in the past.
Few weeks went by (I'm sure they interviewed other candidates) I was offered a position with another company so I called the recruiter with Devry, she got in touch with the National Director immediately. She scheduled a phone call with me 2 days later, offered me the position and I accepted.
Intense background check, make sure everything is accurate on your application. All of your references will be called.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 2 weeks)
Applied to position via website, phonescreen from temporary recruiter who was currently looking for work, company is a younger culture, not many people over the age of 30 in the group. Never heard back them after the in person interview.I tried following up with the manager and the person who conducted the phone screen but after three attempts I stopped. I got the feeling during the interview and from the culture that I wasn't going to be a fit. Just seems like they were looking for someone that fit the culture with the recruiting experience.
