    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Debenhams (Chester, England (UK)) in June 2015.

    Interview

Fairly relaxed one to one interview with no role play or assessment involved. The interview lasted approx. 45 minutes. No real surprises with the questions asked of me. Had to take proof of eligibility to work in UK with me. Lots of discussion about what times/days I would be available to work. Have selected that I have been offered the job but only because there wasn't an option to say haven't heard yet - interviewer is away on holiday & so no decision until she returns.

    Interview

I applied online, I then recieved a phone call for an "on phone" interview, pretty standard interview questions. I then received an email offering me an interview. The interview was scheduled for 10:30am they gave no other information than that. I was surprised when I arrived to find that there was a group of people there and it was going to be a group session followed by an interview. In the group session we had to sell an item to the room (16 other candidates and three employers) and partner up with someone to discuss good and bad qualities of customer service. I got along with my partner and we chatted and enjoyed the experienced. We were then sent back out to the staff canteen to wait for single interviews. My bad luck was that I was last to be called in so I ended up there until 2 in the afternoon. Missed a college lab class because of it so previous notice would have been appreciated. I heard from them exactly two weeks later with an email to tell me to come in for training two weeks after this. I didn't find out my wage, hours or official title until this day. If you are confident talking to people as a group you'll fly it!

    Interview

Interview was with two merchandisers - both were friendly and made you feel at ease and it was quite a laid back environment. Don't worry about getting a grilling, all the questions were fair, nothing too difficult given that you have done sufficient preparation and research. They went over my CV and then asked role specific and competency questions. Then had to present a SWOT analysis of Debenhams, make sure you put enough time and effort into this.
