I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dell Technologies (Reston, VA) in Jul 2012
Interview
Heavily recruited by Dell Headquarters via Linked In Profile for an inside sales manager role. They reached out via phone and I had 2 phone interviews before meeting with the District Sales Manager - who was cocky and talking about how quiclkly he made 250 K in the company and was promoted etc. Very simple and small setting in a hectic, boiler room atmosphere - Each team uses a round table of 5-7 dialers who make 250 calls per day plus. Resembled a modern day sweat shop in terms hours and number of calls per day expected - in a crowded open room atmosphere. I was in a full suit - in contrast to the college dorm like surroundings.
Interview went well, but I did not hear from them - they seemed to be super competitive with me in the interview, perhaps intimidated by my MBA
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
When I divulged what I thought the meetings per week expectation would be, the answer came back doubled. This was completely unrealistic in terms of work hours in a day. 10-12 hour days regularly expected
Dell says it is a collective of customer-obsessed, industry-leading visionaries.
After 13 days i am still yet to receive any form of correspondence regards the status of my application which is showing on thier career website as "Under Review"
My CX with Dell Boomi is extremely low, just hope customers are treated to a higher standard of CX.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Dell Technologies (Round Rock, TX) in Apr 2016
Interview
This was an internal move: I was notified of an open Inside Sale Manager position within my division and declared my interest to my supervisor. I was then directed to apply for a specific job requisition, but then received no further communication for 3 weeks until 2 days before my interview, when I received a meeting invite from another Sales Director. The interview went well (a little short, in retrospect), and I was promised a decision by the end of the following week. The next week came and went, and it was not until the beginning of the new quarter (3 weeks after my interview) that I heard through coworkers, who had actually won the position. I found this to be somewhat unprofessional: no update was provided within the specified timeframe, I was never told by a member of the hiring team the actual decision on the position, and I was never given feedback on or by my interviewing supervisor, even after three attempts to meet with him.

Question 1
Nothing out of the ordinary for a Sales Manager position: Why you? What is your management style? How do you plan to get a new team to follow you?
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Dell Technologies (New Delhi) in Jan 2016
Interview
I applied through the campus placements. It consisted of two interviews both related to sales. Questions were asked to check how good you are in preparing a pitch. Ranging from questions on qualities and strengths to schooling and interests. but it was very general and nothing theoretical was asked.
