Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeksinterviewed at Deloitte (Arlington, VA) in November 2014.

Interview

I came from a non "target school". I applied through employee referral. I was chosen for a first round 30 minute behavioral phone interview with a manager - not too hard, no case questions. Mostly relating your previous work experiences to behavioral situations. Just have a few stories that you can twist into whatever they specifically ask about.

Second and final round was a face to face interview at the office. Two 30 minute case interviews, one with a partner and one with a manager. Received an offer about a week later.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at Deloitte (Los Angeles, CA) in November 2014.

    Interview

Brief phone interview with recruiter. Week later behavioral phone interview with Manager (bad teammates, how you meet new people, dealing with ambiguities, etc.). Couple weeks later had an in person with a Recruiter/Partner, some behavioral questions followed by a case study about merging IT systems, was not too difficult and thankfully the interviewer was helpful in guiding the process because the case and questions were a little ambiguous. 3 weeks later I got an offer.

I applied through an employee referral – interviewed at Deloitte.

    Interview

Interview process consists of a phone interview which when cleared get you a onsite call. There are 2 rounds onsite, behavioral and case interview. Coming from a different background, I had to put in some time to understand the basics of BTA, what skills and concepts are required for the position. However, with adequate preparation, good communication skills, self-confidence and some useful guidance from BTA's, it can be pulled off even by people with little background of BA or BTA.

    Interview Questions

    • Studied some business cases from Deliotte's website and then googled some. During the interview, take your time and analyse to the best of your ability and communicate your thoughts well.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

No negotiations. But, Deliotte is always a good place to begin your career. Hence, didn't mind of no opportunity to negotiate.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeksinterviewed at Deloitte in October 2014.

    Interview

I applied through college or university. The process took around 4 weeks - 2 weeks after resume submission, interview invitation was out, and the whole interview process took two days on campus.

The first round of interview is 30 mins behavior and 30 mins case. The behavior one focus a lot about teamwork, due to the nature of Consulting work. Prepare with the scenario such that working with person with difficult personality, how you work with people from different background, what is your role in the team project. My advice for this part is to relax yourself, be confident, and tailor your leadership/teamwork experience well. They want to see a good culture fit in. The case one is a bit mix with SDLC system development, data management, and interaction with "difficult client". At the night of the first round, you will receive a call if you got the second round.

In the second round is a one to one 45 mins interview with partner. It is 80% case 20% behavior. The case one is about ERP system implementation after acquisition. I prepared the two sample case on the Deloitte website, yet it is not that helpful. The advice from the Interview buddy assign from them were super useful. Suggestion for this part is to show your logical analysis for system implementation. Before analyze the case, remember to ask questions about the addition information/background about the case (they expect you to do that!). Then based on the those information, present your suggestion with the your understanding of the system structure. Besides the case, the partner would ask you some behavior question to see if you a nice person to work with.

The interview is not easy for me, but the online case is general guide, they do have questions about it, but more question on the way you solve the problem. If you are a STEM major, prepare some database management, it will be super helpful.

Around 10 days after the second interview, the offer is released. So anxious before it comes to me! I pretty enjoyed the interview processes because the people I met are pretty nice and professional.

    Interview

First Round: the first round included a behavioral and case interview. The behavioral interview while seemingly less important than the case is what they make final hiring decisions on. Now that I work with recruiting, the hiring managers/partners often comment they they "couldn't put them on a client" or that "they would hate sitting next to them on an airplane." The business case is easy if you follow the technology cases online.

Second Round: The recruiter tells you that this is just going to be a case interview, but when you get into the room usually the Partner (who makes the final decision) asks you a couple behavioral questions.

    Interview Questions

    • I think the hardest questions was around custom building or buying a package technology for Customer Management (CRM). The answer is that managing customer information is not really a novel problem and therefore it makes sense to use a package technology.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

No negotiation really. They have a set figure and it doesn't move.

    Interview

On campus recruiting for position. First day met with two people followed by case study. Notified that night if you move to next round. Following day had a longer, more involved case, then met with partner. Most difficult part was meeting with the partner, he wanted to find people who were seriously passionate about IT consulting.

If you study the cases and really understand the software development life-cycle you'll be fine. Need to be prepared for behavioral part as well as case studies. Not as difficult as an strategy & operations shop, no market sizing. Pure IT strategy.

    Interview

Applied though university career fair, got the interview two weeks later. The first round is a behavioral interview and a case interview. Behavioral is relatively easy, questions are like: Why Deloitte, leadership, teamwork, ambiguous problem once met and how to deal with it. Case interview is hard because I have no case interview experience before. It's about a hospital update system, most question are about gather requirements, interact with end users. No second round.
