Intern Interview (Positive Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at Deloitte.
Interview Details – On-campus interview with two different Deloitte professionals - each interview was roughly 30 minutes. Overall, the interviews were pretty easy and casual. Would have had an offer, but was "too young" based on how many college credit hours I had.
Interview Question – Give an example of a time you worked with a difficult person and how you handled the situation. Answer Question
Consultant - Human Capital Interview (Positive Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied online and the process took 6 weeks - interviewed at Deloitte in September 2012.
Interview Details – I submitted my resume online. A recruiter contacted me and introduced me to a Sr. Manager. The Sr. Manager asked specific HC questions. The recruiter contacted me to invite me in for in-person interviews with 3 leaders.
Interview Question – The case study - role playing scenario. They put you in the shoes of a consultant and have you solve the problem to the best of your ability. "A company wants a new talent management system. How would you proceed?" View Answer
Negotiation Details – I asked for more money. They declined. I accepted anyways.
Audit Assistant Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 5 weeks - interviewed at Deloitte.
Interview Details – Initial communications: Reached out by the head campus recruiter and scheduled for two campus interviews, each one 15-30 minutes.
Planning: I was told this was mainly going to be a behavioral interview therefore I mainly planned by thoroughly reviewing my own resume and being prepared with the "STAR" method to respond to behavioral interview questions.
Number of Interviews: 4 total (2 first round on campus, 2 second round in the city)
Perception of the people: Motivated, lot of pride in their firm being better than other Big 4 firms
Interview Question – Most difficult question was "Why do you want to go into Audit versus Deloitte's other offerings (Tax, FAS, ERS, etc.)?" View Answer
Consultant Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Deloitte in October 2013.
Interview Details – I had 4 30-minute interviews on campus. I received an offer that same week. Depending on your university, you may have 2 interviews in campus and 2 in the office.
Interview Question – Behavioral questions. Think about working on teams, time management, leadership roles. Most importantly show great communication and your personality. Answer Question
Administrative Assistant Interview (Positive Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Deloitte in April 2014.
Interview Details – Applied via Deloitte website, was contacted a day after requesting a time to conduct a phone interview, phone interview was basic quick questions about previous employment and pay range. I was then sent email to have an imperson interview a few days after. I interviewed with 3 managers for different services departments. Each interview took 30-45 min, and I was asked questions on how I would handle a situtation and what were my main responsiblites at my last position.
Interview Question – I think my most difficult question was when they asked about to describe a sitituation in which something went in error or a customer was irate, and how it was handled. Because I could tell they were trying to find the right person to be in the position that could be stressful at times. Answer Question
Audit Internship Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Deloitte in September 2013.
Interview Details – They were very easy to access communication wise and quick in responding. Very flexible with scheduling!
Interview Question – Haven't gotten any unexpected questions yet but I likely will in the next round. View Answer
Negotiation Details – I'm not done with the interviewing process yet. I passed 1st round and will be moving onto 2nd round soon.
Project Controller Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Deloitte in February 2014.
Interview Details – My first interview was with a Deloitte recruiter who asked me to walk him through my resume - very general. The second interview was with a current Senior Project Controller who asked me some Excel/Basic financial questions. The next was in-person with three senior managers who ask standard interview questions and also a case study portion (see below). It was not as intimidating as I would have assumed for Deloitte.
Interview Question – You will have a case portion - but not like McKinsey or Google type questions where they ask you "how many trash cans are in New York City?" These questions will make you act like a Project Manager and ask your opinion when issues arise. For example: How would you cut costs? Make sure you know how to calculate project margin as well. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Did not negotiate since salary is great for a salary starting. Benefits can't be beat.
Consulting Manager Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through an employee referral and the process took 3 months - interviewed at Deloitte in October 2013.
Interview Details – Multiple interviews with Director and Staff
Reason for Declining – Work life balance and they wanted me to dissolve all financial holdings with loss to me personally
Deloitte Human Capital Summer Scholar Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Deloitte in October 2013.
Interview Details – I got in touch with Deloitte LLP through my university's career fair for undergraduates. I attended a case interview prep workshop and night prior dinner with Deloitte. I interviewed at my university for first round, a behavioral and case interview, both individual. I then flew on site to Chicago. There was a night prior required dinner as well as interviews all day the next day. I was in two individual behavioral interviews, one individual case interview, and one group case interview.
Interview Question – Where do you see yourself in five years? Answer Question
Intern Interview (Negative Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Deloitte in February 2014.
Interview Details – First round interviews were conducted on campus. You have two interviews, one with a partner and one with an associate. One is supposed to be behavioral questions and one is just a conversation. Both interviewers seemed disinterested and acted as though they were supperior to me which was especially offputing. Unsuprisingly, I was not invited to a second interview.
Interview Question – Tell me about yourself. What industry do you want to go into? Tell us about a time where you had to work with a difficult group. Answer Question
