Interviewed Jan 2012 in New York, NY (took 2 months)
phone interview with recruiter
phone interview with partner
interview day - 3 partners, 2 behavioral interviews, one case study
advice: depends on which partners you talk to, but for senior hires, you have to prove that you can "carry your weight" by bringing in new business. Case was relatively straightforward.

Interviewed Sep 2009 in New York, NY (took 3 weeks)
Recruited by a "sourcer" who finds resumes on the web. Interviewed first by a recruiter by phone. Selected for on-site follow-up "Interview Day". Interviewed with 4 people including a Partner from my specific practice area. Don't be afraid to challenge conventional wisdom. The people are all very intelligent and friendly. They want to add smart and capable team mates. Leave you humility at the door. Expect to work hard, learn much and play hard.

Interviewed Mar 2011 (took 3 weeks)
the process is in 3 parts
Recruiter screens for fitment and then pases onto Sr Recruiter/Manager, who basically asks same / similar questions to detemine skills, exp, level, salary expectation etc. etc. the familiar recruiter questions, although not sure why there are 2 seperate rounds
Once the recruiter clears, someone from the practice does a phone screen and provides feedback for next round of interviews...in my case a Sr Manager spoke to me and it was a short 20-25 mins interview, he must have realized I have good quals and did not probe much, but was very helpfull in answering my queries and giving advice on what Deloitte looks for in a Sr Manager
I was then called for an in person interview at a Deloitte office. they pay for hotel and travel. I met 3 ppl, one after the other, almost back to back. The first one was a Partner, who seemed more interested in knowing how we were running our practice and if we were doing any unique things, some general questions about the expereince and the teams I have managed etc etc. again what i would call a light weight interview...
Then I met a Manager and after that a Sr Manager. again interviewers concentrated on general expereince, aspirations, role description etc. both of them were generally open about answering any questions I had.
Overall the process was smooth, good exp, but I felt the interviews were not very tough, they did not test my SME knowledge too much, more superficial.
After the in person interviews were over, the recruiter called me next day, and asked me what was my expectation in terms of compenation and told me that generally comp discussion happens at the begining but in my case it did not. We disagreed on the role, she said I should join at manager level and then work my way up to Sr Manager. I said NO. end of story, never heard back from her, no official communication or update on the final status if Deloitte would make or not make an offer. I guess she realized I will not accept a Manager role and hence dropped my case.
I don't know if I should have asked for a formal offer, even if it was for a manager role and then declined. eitherways I wasn't going to accept.
I hope this helps.

Interviewed Jan 2009 in New York, NY (took 6+ weeks)
Was originally contacted by internal recruiter after submitting resume online. Had initial phone screen with internal recruiter and then phone screen with manager. Eventually brought in for in person interview. Was one on one interviewed by 3 partners. Overall process was relatively stress free and focused on technical and business past.

Interviewed May 2010 in Dallas, TX (took 3 months)
They first contacted via email. After I responded, it took them good two weeks to contact me for a preliminary phone interview. That went well. Then they had a technical interview again over the phone. The arrangements were made by another HR person. And was arranged very hurriedly. The HR guy told me that I would be going to Austin for F2F, within two weeks. Then four weeks go by not contact, even after I sent an email. Then after about six weeks, I get a call, with another tentative date. Although they sent me instructions for the Austin trip they never mad any travel arrangements. 3 Days before the date I sent an email and was told that it has again been rescheduled for the next week, this time in Dallas. Finally it took place with four people F2F. They did not even bother to take me to lunch. I wish they had the courtesy to keep me posted with the changes in their schedules and process, which was annoying.
Reason for Declining
Did not like the offer and the interview process was so haphazard that I figured, I don't need to compromise on my compensation.

Interviewed Jul 2008 in Chicago, IL (took 4+ weeks)
The interview process was fine though I had a couple of people on the panel who were really sleepy and yawning all the time. May be they did not get the right sleep the night before. I got two messages from this, either the team did not care for this interview process or they were over worked. So, I decided to pass on this offer.

Interviewed Aug 2007 in San Francisco, CA (took 2 weeks)
Deloitte started interviewing me in March and wanted me to join ASAP. I was finishing a major project that would go another five months. We met every six to eight weeks and then I was able to give notice at my lat employer and joined the Firm in September, with the last interview being held with the managing principal in August.

Negotiation Details
The negotiations were OK - I wanted at least the same base salary but the couldn't match so it was decided the sign on bonus would be twice originally offered to get past the delta in the base salary.
