Interview Question for Team Leader at Target:

This question is looking for accountability. Target isn't looking at the severity of what you failed at, they're looking at were you accountable to it, and did you make it right? An example for me would be,

"A few weeks ago, I had a miscommunication with a subordinate. I interpreted what this person had said as being hostile and insubordinate, while she was merely pointing something out to me that she was seeking praise for. I moved quickly to address the situation, apologizing for action taken in response to the misconception. Today, we maintain a healthy working relationship, and I've noticed her working on her communication skills. Whats more, I am also using the experience to learn to listen more intently to what my team is saying, instead of taking what is said at face value."
