Interview Question for Technical Lead - GIS at Autodesk:

Before the "downturn of the economy', I was asked to formulate the transition from using only AutoCAD and move into Revit. With only two weeks to make an assessment, I was asked what would be required, how much it was going to cost, and how long before we were going to be able to produce drawings in that program? My answers were as follows; required a full upgrade of computer systems (most were over ten years old), got a quote from our reseller (major cost in initiial upgrade), and finally how long before it could be used to impliment the full changes was at least 2 years because they wanted all of the database recreated inside of revit (35 GB of Data). Recommended they only upgrade a few systems and pay for a few licences, but was overruled and they upgraded all of the systems and had everyone's licenses upgraded to Revit. Now, because of the economy and lack of cash flow I am unemployed and the business is barely hanging on. 55 people before and now only has 13 left. They also went back to only using AutoCAD and had the cost of the licenses reduced.
