This question was tricky because I didn't want to appear weak or questionable by exposing a more significant failure, but at the same time, I knew I couldn't describe a petty failure like forgetting to take out the garbage because it would have no relevance or meaning. I decided to describe an experience I had during a previous internship where the possible solutions I had come up with to an engineering problem were not accepted by the higher-ups. I told my interviewers that I had learned from this experience and explained how. Choosing to answer in this way gave me credibility as an engineering apprentice willing to learn from mistakes and also showed them that I had relevant experience.
