Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 3 days)
Applied based on a referral. Call was relatively prompt from Dignity Memorial. There was a momentary confusion as the local employer might use their name, as Dignity is a broader brand.
Initially there was a phone screen.
That was followed by a 1:1 interview.
Even though this is essentially for a sales job, there is a desire for folks who are caring and do not adopt a hard sales communication style, though they do regularly and aggressively set appointments.
The office for the regional site where I interviewed was well appointed, exuded calm.
My interviewer was very personable and professional, though a little squishy in a few areas. I had to probe on "sales" whether that meant "What the company earned" versus commission earned. It was the former. The % commission is pretty low. It was also hard to get a very straight answer on employee turnover, also telling.
We both decided the job was not a fit as he was honest enough to admit the lead time before realistically surviving on a 100% commission sales position is typically quite long (likely easily 6+ months, perhaps much much longer), too long for me, though there is some training pay for the 1st month.
I do believe Dignity offers a great service and could be a good fit for someone well connected, caring and comfortable in a commission environment who can hang in there for the long haul.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Atlanta, GA (took 4+ weeks)
Too Long. First Interview took place in July. Managers seem uninterested (First Red Flag) and didn't return phone calls (second Red Flag). Second Interview took place in August with another one in September (Third Red Flag) . Manaagers were not clear about job expectations and failed to deliver a realistic view of what the demands of the job require.
My Friends said I was carzy for continuing to talk to them, but I had relocated and needed to find work.
