Interviewed Dec 2009 (took 3 months)
Had three great interviews, sent follow-up emails and was left with the impression that I was a leading candidate. However, never heard back from HR, nor the hiring manager. When I finally sent another email, I received a form email back telling me I was not selected for the job, but the job I "I wasn't selected for" wasn't even the one I applied for! Overall experience disappointing and unorganized.

Interviewed Apr 2010 in Silver Spring, MD (took 3 days)
I was interviewed at an exact time and he called me at that time. The interview was very short and consisted of about 4 questions. The first was what do we do at Discovery Communications?, the next was who was your favorite teacher?, What is your favorite brand and why? and the final was Why Discovery? He was very straight forward and did not react much.

Approached for position by Head of Department that would have been direct report. Then was directed to HR manager, than referred back to department head. Was approached in late September. Weeks without news. Then finally interviewed in November by HR, the later interviewed by department head a few week later.
Give examples of work, very interested in team spirit and proficiency in language.

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Silver Spring, MD (took 3 weeks)
Submitted NUMEROUS applications over the years, and finally got called in for an interview. Initial contact was from HR; I actually spoke with two people in HR, so I was never sure who was the lead in the hiring process. First interview was with HR, general questions ("Tell me about yourself, why do you want to work here, where do you see yourself in 5 years"). I was told my resume would be forwarded to the department. Next interview was by phone with someone from the department (not the manager) and was more in-depth. My final interview was in-person with the department manager who was very laid back, and focused more on my long-term goals.
Negotiation Details
I did not negotiate and with the employment instability at this company, I didn't feel it was safe to do so.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a Phone Interview and a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Mar 2008 in New York, NY (took 3 weeks)
I was very impressed with the interview process- they were very nice and had good follow up with me since day 1 of the process. I first had a phone interview and then I came in to meet with HR and the hiring manager. Seems like everyone there knew each other and were genuinely happy to work there. I would make sure you do your reasearch about the company, the brands, etc. The office is really put together and it has a family feel.
