Interviewed May 2012 in Anaheim, CA (took 2 months)
I applied online and was contacted a few weeks later by an HR rep. She scheduled a phone interview for me with the hiring manager, which was about an hour in length. That same afternoon the HR person contacted me to find out my availability to come in for the "full day" interview where you meet at least 10-15 people, ranging from creative to technical to project management. After that there was a phone interview with a higher-up in Orlando but I sensed it was a formality because they had already told me when I could expect an offer. Interviewers mostly asked questions (many repeats of the same questions, in fact) in the behavioral interview style, "tell me about a time when team members disagreed with you" and "what would you do if xyz happened and you couldn't meet the deadline" etc.
I will note that their process was slightly disorganized between different HR centers in Orlando and Glendale, sending me duplicate requests for forms to fill out, leaving out details such as where to park, etc. so I had to be proactive in getting the information I needed.
Everyone was very nice. Basically they were looking for "fit", since there are many qualified applicants and they were not in a rush to fill the position by a particular date.
After I accepted the offer, I received several kind emails from peers and management congratulating me.

Negotiation Details
It is very difficult to negotiate with Disney, as they have strict salary bands for each role. They offered me about 20% less than I was making at the time (at another company). I bargained hard and after getting many levels of approval they were able to meet me in the middle with a combination of increased base + signing bonus. Most other terms were totally non-negotiable (e.g. vacation, waiting period for certain benefits).
Other Details
I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview and a Background Check.

Interviewed Apr 2012 in Anaheim, CA (took 5 days)
I applied, and received an email which directed me to take a personalitly test. Once the test was finished I was I prompted to schedule an interview which was 2 weeks after the date I took the test. When I arrived I waited until my name was called and during that time your watching a video on how to attain the disney look. The interview was easy, the lady I spoke with was really nice and asked about my previous job history and why I wanted to work for Disney. She advised me that I would have to do a second interview but I didn't get the position for that job that I could choose between 2 other departments.

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Anaheim, CA (took a day)
I went in, waited for a while because the printer forgot to put my name on the roster, watched a nice video about Walt Disney, and finally got called in. The man asked me simple questions like what made me decide to apply at Disney, my experience in guest and customer services, and to give examples when I've got out of my way to help a customer in the work place. He then asked me why I wanted to be a busser and checked the openings to find the right restaurant in the park. He didn't even tell me me I was hired - just handed me a hiring paper and told me when to come back for paperwork. Although it was surprisingly less than enthusiastic and magical, I was very pleased with the outcome and very thankful to be given the job.

When you apply online it asks for a second and third choice job title. Take those seriously as the interviewer will check all openings to put you in the right place. Don't put custodial if you don't want to clean toilets. Don't put lifeguard if you aren't certified, etc.

The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Anaheim, CA (took a day)
This was a very simple interview. They asked very basic questions such as: What are your strengths and weaknesses, what do you know about this company, what would your friends say about you. Just be on time and be well dressed. They are very strict on appearance so it'll look bad if you come to the interview in anything less than professional.

Came in to apply in person, applied on the computer waited for about an 30 minutes. Got called to take personality test. If you don't pass the test you don't continue to the next step. About 10 minutes later I was called in for the interview. She asked a couple of questions and I was hired.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Anaheim, CA (took a day)
I was interviewed by three engineers at Disneyland resort. Basically they scanned through my resume and asked me questions about the various projects I worked on. They were disappointed that I had very little experience with MATLAB and FEA. All three of the interviewers were very kind.

Interviewed Jun 2009 in Anaheim, CA (took 2 days)
I should start off by saying that when you plan to go to the casting center, be prepared to wait several hours. Depending on how busy it is, they may have you do your entire interview process that day, or they will schedule an interview with you to return another day if you happen to make it that far.
You start off by doing a generic computer-based application, and upon completion you wait until the "propaganda room" is ready, where they will play a short movie for a group of applicants explaining how great and magical it is to work for Disney.
Following the video, your group is taken into another room with computers, this time for a personality quiz. This is essentially your basic multiple choice scenario questions ("What would you do if...", etc.). Just try to be honest and make the right choices. Then you'll meet with someone for what is essentially a "mini" interview. They're all very basic questions regarding your resume, just so you can elaborate on some things. If you pass the personality quiz, this will be when you find out, and they will either have you wait to speak to an interviewer, or they will pencil you in for an interview on a later date. I actually had to wait 2-3 days to continue the interview process, since it was during the summer hiring rush.
In the next phase, chances are they will be interviewing you twice. The first portion will actually involve you being interviewed at the same time as someone else, just so they can observe your composition in a situation like that. Most of the questions will apply exclusively to you or the other interviewee, so you don't have to worry much about what their answer would be. I actually found the process pretty relieving, since the girl who was also being interviewed was just as nervous as myself, and I think it helped the both of us.
After that, they do a one on one interview with you just to finish it off. Then they will let you know right there what the outcome is. For me, I was told that while I was perfectly qualified (I applied for Attractions Host), they were unfortunately not looking for anyone in that particular area. But since that was the position I really wanted, they believed that I was worthy enough to be placed on a waiting list. When I heard that, I was like "Psh yeah okay, see you NEVER I guess...", but a month later I got the call offering me the position. After that, you go fill out some paperwork, then to a day of Disney University (that's not a joke, it's real), and then 3-4 days of on the job training with some computer training mixed in.
The best advice I can give to people interested in getting in: SMILE! That's one of the most important parts of the interview process, and they WILL look for it. Don't force it, just try to be happy and excited, since your goal here is to work in a happy and exciting environment. And don't underestimate them, they won't just hire anyone, so if you don't come in with your A-game then they will weed you out fairly quickly.
But it's all worth it, this was seriously one of the funnest jobs I've ever had and I loved every minute of it. I'm not exactly a Disney freak, but it's hard to hate playing on rides all day and having fun with kids and adults alike.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Anaheim, CA (took a day)
I went in to Team Disney Anaheim and applied using their computers. Two weeks later I received and email asking me to complete a web based interview. at the end of that it asked me to schedule an interview. The only available opening was in 2 weeks, I accepted it, went in and talked to the cast member in my 1 on 1 interview and was hired on the spot!

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Los Angeles, CA (took a day)
I watched a video of what it would be like to work there and the expectations of how 'cast members' should present themselves, like with hair color and nails. Then it was a one on one interview where we reviewed my past job experience and why I want to work for the company. Then there were some behavioral questions. The interview went smooth and felt more like a conversation then an interview.
