Interviewed Dec 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 4+ weeks)
Interview was highly structured started with HR interview, to know my expectations followed by an interview with the hiring manager. Next step was a 1.5 hours of Skype Conference with two senior members of the team. I got a call from the interviewer 1 week later on the onsite interview process. The whole day involved interview with Senior VP, VP, two Directors, hiring manager and engineer.

Interviewed Dec 2009 in Chicago, IL (took 3 weeks)
I saw a posting that Dotomi was hiring and applied. They responded in a couple of days and asked me for a phone screen. Did the phone screen 2 days later. Passed that and they brought me in for interviews with 5 people. I liked it was a longer interview day with multiple people because it game me a chance to get perspective from a number of different people. Everyone was nice, on time, and asked smart questions. They didn't waste the time in the interviews with crazy questions. Past that round of interviews and got to meet the senior person in Engineering and the CEO. I thought that was cool and they took the time (1 hr each) to get to know me and see how I would fit at Dotomi. I could tell they were normal guys and were easy to talk to and approachable. I got the job and I have to say that the company was exactly the way everyone explained it and I am happy to be an employee. No runaround, like other places I have worked.

Other Details
I applied In-Person and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, a Skills Test, a Personality Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 3 weeks)
Very, very peculiar interview process from start to finish. Initially received a call from an HR rep to discuss my background, the position(s) he felt I would be qualified for, the next steps (or lackthereof), etc. After asserting my interest in the company and a position there, the HR rep told me that I'd be receiving an email and after that, would be hearing from another associate in HR to set up a phone interview with the hiring manager. Days, followed by 2 weeks went by with no sign of communication; suddenly on a Friday after my work hours, I was contacted by the same rep. who asked me if I was still interested, went over the same points we went over the first time, and said I'd be hearing from someone to schedule a phone interview. Three days later, I received a voicemail from HR asking me to call back to discuss my availability; I returned the voicemail, left potential days to conduct the phone interview, never heard back. Out of the blue days later, I was contacted by the hiring manager, who assumed that me leaving a voicemail with HR of potential dates to conduct an interview meant that she could call on any of those days and begin said interview. The hiring manager swore that someone had called me and I had given spoken confirmation for an interview date-- no such thing happened. The hiring manager asked if I could talk anyhow and answer a few questions, and away went my "interview" which was entirely consumed with me being caught off-guard and trying to put myself into a mode as if I had had time to prepare. The questions I was asked were as if they were trying to sell the position to me- ie. "Does this sound like a position you'd enjoy?" Extremely unprofessional, and not surprisingly, I never heard back from Dotomi although I would not be shocked if I do hear back in a few weeks-- off-guard, of course.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 2 weeks)
An HR person from Dotomi set up a phone interview with the Software QA manager. The phone interview was strange because the manager was trying to talk me out of the job, not into it. After I convinced him I wanted the job, an in-person interview was set up for the following week. Dotomi scheduled me for 4 interviews from 11am to 3pm, with no break for lunch, which should have been a warning as to how the interviews were going to go. In a quick talk with the HR guy before the interviews, he emphasized how much experience interviewing the interviewers had.
The Software QA manager took whatever I said, twisted it around and put the worst possible interpretation on it. He almost seemed disappointed that I didn't pick a fight with him. Some of the questions were rather personal, such as "What are you going to do if you don't get this job?" Very few of the questions dealt with the job or how capable I was of doing it. He gave the impression that the job is stressful, but at the same time said I was too laid back for it. Do they really want to hire people who get stressed out easily?
The peer interview with a person who would be a co-worker was no less maddening. He would jump from one spot on my resume to another, so I was never quite sure what time period he was asking about. And his questions were so vague I'd have to get him to repeat them in hopes he'd rephrase them and I'd know what he was asking. After the interview with him I was ushered unceremoniously out the door.
They seem to enjoy watching people squirm in the interviews. If they treat people who aren't employees this badly, how badly do they treat their employees? (Pretty badly it sounds like from the employee reviews.) If I got the job, which I assume I didn't since I haven't heard back, I'd be looking for another job immediately.
Dotomi is located in a nice old brick loft building a few blocks from the train station and located next to the subway line.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 3 weeks)
By far the worst company I have ever interviewed with. I was referred by an employee and spoke with two HR recruiters working for Dotomi before an in person interview was set. The first HR person that contacted me called late at night, the conversation was relaxed and I was asked a very inappropriate question about my ability to pay my bills. Then I was told they would be recommending me for an in person interview "as a favor" to the Employee who referred me. About a week later, a different HR person contacted me to set up the interview. On the day of the interview, I met with the CEO who was very pleasant and our interview went well. Then I met with someone in a senior management role who appeared to very irritated to meet with me, and was focused on the fact that I do not have ad agency experience, even though both of the HR contacts assured me that they pull from a diverse talent pool and I have all the transferable skills needed in the position. My third interview was with a very friendly higher up who was not at all interested in discussing what I have accomplished in my career, and instead grilled me about some personal issues that are totally irrelevant to the position I was interviewing for. Three hours later, one of the HR contacts I had spoken to came in the room to tell me that they have filled all the positions they were hiring for, but they will keep my resume on hand.
