Interviewed Oct 2011 in Freeport, TX (took 3 months)
In July 2011 I applied online and had a phone interview in August. I followed up every couple of weeks on the status of my application. Then in October 2011, I was invited to come to Midland, MI for a face to face interview. The interview was behavioral based questions (S.T.A.R. model)
The interview process I have to say was negative because even though the hiring manager already knew that I held several jobs prior, I was rejected because of this. I asked myself, then why go through this interview process in the first place.
Also, one of the interviewers had never heard of the term AOP (annual operating plan).

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Freeport, TX (took a day)
First contact was through the phone for a short interview with human resources. They asked generic information about your skills, background, previous employers etc. Then, I was contacted by the supervisor for the position I was applying for to tell me they selected me for an in-person interview. A date was set up and I was given a person to contact to arrange for travel and hotel expenses to be covered. It was indicated to me that I needed to give a 1 hour seminar and would be interviewed by a range of different people with a wide range of different backgrounds.
The day of the interview I was picked up at the hotel and brought to the interview location. After arriving, I met with a person from Human Resources and the supervisor for the position to discuss how the interview will proceed and discussed the scedule for the interview. There was a 1 hour seminar, 5 group interviews with two employees interviewing me (one of which was done remotely with two people on the phone at a different site) that were 30 min each, and a 1 hour interview with the two supervisors directly above the position. In the 30 minute interviews, I was interviewed by other people currently in the same position I was applying for, people below the position in technician roles, technical people in another group that I would be interfacing with, and supervisors.
The questions I was asked were generally split into four categories: Technical Knowledge about the job I was applying for, technical knowledge about past experience and my seminar topic, scenario qeustions designed to test how well I work on my feet, and "HR" questions about teamwork, leadership, conflict resolution, and integrity. The HR questions were fairly generic versions of what you can find online such as "Tell me about a time that you had a conflict with a coworker and how it was resolved?", "Do you prefer to work in teams or on your own?", "Give an example of a time that you exhibited leadership in a role" etc.
After the interview it was about 2 weeks before an offer was made.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Pearland, TX (took 2 days)
The interview process began with an application online. Received a phone call from a lady in HR and was asked standard behavioral questions such as describe a time when you had to face a difficult situation, how did you handle it and what were the results. This was followed by some general questions such as why Dow, team leadership qualities etc...I was told that I would be contacted in a month, it has almost been a month, sent some inquiry emails and have not heard from them yet.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Freeport, TX (took a day)
The interview last about 4o minutes. It was a 3 people panel. They rotated questions, and also gave a piece of paper with the interview questions in case you wanted to read along. They were very serious, they were not mean, but they had their poker face on, and showed no interest or disgust. If you get to the panel interview I would really focus on your interpersona skills and safety.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Freeport, TX (took a day)
I applied online and two months later, the group manager emailed me first and then called me to set up an onsite interview. At the interview day, the group manager brought me in a conference room and I talked to one lady and one guy abroad over phone. They asked questions regarding my research experience and interests. Then I was brought to a meeting room and did a technical presentation for one hour. People asked questions. After that, I talked to another research leader. She asked me about the experience on my resume. After that, I had a lunch interview with a research leader, R&D director and the group manager. They asked me why I chose xxx university, what's my extracurricular activity, etc. Mostly behavior questions. After lunch, I was brought to the scientist's office and had an interview with the group manager and the scientist for that group. The scientist asked some technical questions. Finally, I was brought to another person in another department, who has cooperation with the group I was interviewing with. She asked me about the innovation, initiative thing. After that, I was sent to airport.
It was a long day. Just be confident and get prepared, especially the achievements you completed before.
