Research Specialist Interview
I applied online. The process took 1 day – interviewed at Dow Chemical (Freeport, TX) in July 2010.
I applied online and two months later, the group manager emailed me first and then called me to set up an onsite interview. At the interview day, the group manager brought me in a conference room and I talked to one lady and one guy abroad over phone. They asked questions regarding my research experience and interests. Then I was brought to a meeting room and did a technical presentation for one hour. People asked questions. After that, I talked to another research leader. She asked me about the experience on my resume. After that, I had a lunch interview with a research leader, R&D director and the group manager. They asked me why I chose xxx university, what's my extracurricular activity, etc. Mostly behavior questions. After lunch, I was brought to the scientist's office and had an interview with the group manager and the scientist for that group. The scientist asked some technical questions. Finally, I was brought to another person in another department, who has cooperation with the group I was interviewing with. She asked me about the innovation, initiative thing. After that, I was sent to airport. It was a long day. Just be confident and get prepared, especially the achievements you completed before.
