A phone interview is first conducted to guage the suitability of the applicant.Successful applicants are invited to an interview where they are first tested on their engineering skills, followed by their ability to be creative on a part that is totally new to them. After the tests(about 1 hour) a review of the results is carried out, and then the verbal part of the interview begins. Expect to spend half a day at teh interview(3hours)

Interview by 2 engineering managers. Both potential line managers after the interview. All Engineering interview are conducted by senior engineers or managers and not HR.
No real competency questions other than to expand on my experiences at university and with previous work experience. Then asked several questions to show my understanding of Dyson technology. More to see how your brain works than how much you already know about Dyson stuff.
Very relaxed interview overall compared to say, an assessment day.

Applied online, recruitment process was very disorganized (ie would be told one thing, and there would be a different outcome). Went in for one on one interviews, and was then called the following day to return for additional interviews two days later. Did not get confirmation for the times of the second day of interviews until the morning of the interviews. After going in on two separate days, I never heard anything again from Dyson. I thought they could have at least sent a rejection email.
Culture of the company and the open work environment looked great. I felt like they spent a lot of time selling Dyson to me.

The work culture is business casual. I applied online with Snagajob.com. I went through 2 phone interviews and 1 in-person. The last interview consisted of selling the manager a product.

I was only able to negotiate the territory that I wanted to work in. Salary is the same for everyone except in states where the cost-of-living is higher. I think they treat people well and if you like sales, this is a great company.

Applied direct to company via ad in industry press. Set up phone interview with HR. 30-45 minutes of usual questions - go through CV/work history and simple questions such as why Dyson?
Then invited for 1:1 interview via email a day later. Declined due to other job offers.

I got a phone call from an HR representative in Chicago, the US headquarters. The phone interview took about 45 min and consisted of questions like, why are you interested in working..., tell us what you know about Dyson, one example of how you influenced someone, etc. They told me they would for sure contact me in 2 weeks, and I never got a response. And I am still waiting for a response.
