Skype interview last half an hour, basic questions about experiences that could contribute to being a teacher, why you want to travel and live in the specific country. They spent a lot of time going through the terms and conditions of the contract, and what to expect when you live in China. They gave some situational questions such as "what would you do in a mixed ability classroom when teaching phonics?".
- What experiences have you had working with children? What would you like to learn about China? What teaching experience do you have?

I had a Skype interview with an American interviewer based in Shanghai, China. She was professional and the interview was friendly straightforward. She asked me some word-association questions to make sure I wasn't crazy, and wanted to know about my previous teaching experience. The toughest part about it was the awkward PM timing and having all day to think about the interview before it happened. On-boarding was straightforward and as pleasant as it could have been, moving from the US to China.
- Timed word association

Teachers interview and are required to give a 30 minute sample lesson to current students. They are given the subject matter a few days in advance. It was not too difficult. The sample lesson can be a little stressful as you are teaching students you have never met before and are evaluated by a classroom teacher, the academic director and students.
- I honestly don't remember. I was asked about my experience, education and classroom management. The interview was easy compared to the sample lesson can reveal more about a teacher's style and skill level.
