Interviewed Jul 2010 in New York, NY (took 6 weeks)
An inhouse recruiter reached out via LinkedIn. I had a phone screener, then met with all the senior members of our department, as well as seniors from our overall group. Had constant contact with the hiring manager. I also had to sit a one hour written "situation test" and a one hour written "writing test". When I accepted the offer I had to sign a consent form for a background test.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Chicago, IL (took 2 weeks)
Fortunately, a former colleague of mine shared the contact information for one of Edelman's recruiters with me, and I was able to directly interact with her. I contacted her via email and received a response in a very timely manner, and she set up a phone interview for me with three of the team's VPs (as I was looking to relocate).
From my phone interviews, I really got the perception that Edelman employs smart and business-savvy PR professionals, and my conversations with the VPs confirmed my strong interest in working for the company.
The HR recruiter contacted me the day following my phone interviews to scheduled a time for in-person interviews with six corporate affairs team members as well as the writing test. I'd say I received my job offer within two weeks of my in-person interviews.

Interviewed Aug 2010 (took 2 days)
During my interview process, I had to go through two interviews to get the actual internship. I spoke with the HR director first and then proceeded to the group interview. The group interview consisted of two people asking questions that related to my resume and life. Once that was over, I recieved a call saying that I had recieved an offer to work at Edelman.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Los Angeles, CA (took 3 days)
Initially reached out to HR via the Edelman website after an employee referred me to the position. After the initial call with HR and sending resume/portfolio, I was asked to come in and do three 1:1 interviews with the team that was hiring. Then, I was told they would follow up the next week, but called me within the hour to set up 3 additional 1:1 interviews for the next day. After those, I completed a two-hour writing exam. The third day I completed a phone interview and then two days later was offered the position. Best day of my life!!

Interviewed Apr 2010 in Bellevue, WA (took a day)
HR will first contact you through e-mail or phone, and ask if you're available for a quick 5-10 minute screening. They ask you very general questions...nothing out of the ordinary such as "why do you want to work in PR," why do you want to work at Edelman, what do you hope to get out of this internship, ask questions about your previous experience, what you have learned from your past internships, why you should be picked, etc. Like all interviews, they want you to sell yourself. If they like you, they will have you interview with an account executive there and they ask almost identical questions. They might have you send some writing samples afterward so be prepared to have a pen ready to write down an email to send those. Besides that, the questions are super straight forward.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Chicago, IL (took 2+ weeks)
My interview at Edelman consisted of a phone screening followed by one on one meetings with HR. Lastly, I met with the team who needed an intern. They did not ask anything out of the ordinary and it seemed mainly a way to get to know me. The environment felt relaxed so I was able to show them who I am as a person as opposed to someone expressed on a paper.
