The process took 2 months - interviewed at Education in May 2012.
Interview Details – Interview process was so drawn out I decided to look elsewhere. Two phone screens with individuals who did not have the experience to ask useful questions or answer many questions. Must fill out extensive background application which asks for details of your high school experience. Phone screen was extremely long and again contained in depth questions about my high school experience despite the fact I graduated high school in the 90s. After numerous contacts through email and phone and an almost two hour phone screen i was told I would need to have an 1. in person interview 2. observation of school. 3. be observed teaching a lesson to students at the residential school. Extremely long process with people who do not really seem to understand position for a position that is extremely low in pay to similar teaching positions.
Interview Question – What was your most memorable experience in high school Answer Question
The process took 3 days - interviewed at Education in February 2011.
Interview Details – The first phone interview is very pleasant. I walked away feeling very informed about, and even inspired by, a company that sets up classrooms in hospital settings and mental health facilities. Education, inc uses the behavioral interview model right from the start and carries it throughout the whole interview process. (They then check background and call references if needed.) I then went to one of the hospital sites to interview in person with who would become my direct manager. This interview felt more like discussing educational beliefs with an old friend rather than applying for a job, so again I was led to believe that this company would be a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, none of the pleasantries and support found in the interview process were present in the position.
Interview Question – We are a for-profit company. Do you have any experience with for-profit? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Don't negotiate, just walk away. Of all the teachers I managed, not one was happy.
