I applied through college or university and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Encana.

Interview Details – They held a meet and greet at my university, the day before interviews were to be held. We were able to meet with interviewers ahead of time, and that helped to ease the interview jitters and I felt like the interview was more of a conversation than 'being grilled.'

Interview Question – Explain a time where you felt like you failed, and what you did to overcome that.   Answer Question

Completion Engineer Interview

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Encana in February 2010.

Interview Details – Contacted by recruiter that Encana had contracted with. Submitted resume after several phone conversations. I was then contacted by the Encana inside recruiter. She setup the interview process. I went to the Encana office and spent the full day interviewing. I met with 3 different groups ranging from coworkers to managers. Encana did a very thorough job of checking references. They had each reference do a phone interview with a rating process. I received an offer. I initially turned it down. But they kept calling me back until I accepted.

Interview Question – None of the questions were difficult. They focused on experience. Why I was considering leaving my current employer. How do you handle or deal with coworkers. I felt it was a typical interview.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I was happy with what was offered. I did not negotiate.
