The first interview I received was 1:1 with the manager and it was conducted on campus. I was asked questions relating to my background, work experiences, and why I was interested in the company - pretty easy. A few weeks afterwards, I was invited for a second round interview at the company. I met with four individuals - three managers and an engineer - and we discussed my interests (again) and information about the company. Again, each interview was simple and straightforward (no behavioral or case study questions). I felt very confident in my performance, but after one week of not hearing back, I called the managers to find out the status of my application. I was told that I was still under consideration, but after several weeks of not hearing anything, I called again only to be told the same thing. Four months later, I received an email saying I did not get the position.
Everyone who I interviewed with spent most of the time talking about themselves and how great the company was, but did not ask any questions regarding my accomplishments or problem solving skills. I don't know why they bothered to invite me for an interview only to talk about themselves and then ultimately reject me four months later. Even though the interview process was a positive experience, I felt that it was a waste of time.
