Interviewed May 2012 in Madison, WI (took a day)
My university has a resume book that employers can peruse. Epic found my resume and sent me an e-mail telling me they thought I'd be a good fit for the Project Manager position. I replied that I did, and they responded in about a week telling me to take an IQ/Intelligence Test. From there I did a super easy phone interview and a week later got invited to do the day long campus interview.

Interviewed Apr 2012 in Madison, WI (took 2 weeks)
I was contacted by an HR rep for Epic who recommended I apply for the corporate recruiter and project management positions-- I applied online shortly after. The online application was basic and straight forward. I then completed two intelligence tests online as well.
Next, I was contacted to do a phone interview. It was 30-40 minutes long. The conversation was very easy going and relaxed. It consisted of average interview questions: What's your ideal job? What is an accomplishment you're very proud of? What were your past positions? etc.
A little over two weeks later I was invited to fly out for an interview for the corporate recruiter position. After arranging a travel itinerary I was contacted again and told the corporate recruiter position was filled, but that Epic would still like to speak to me about project management.
I flew out a few days later and everything was taken care of for me. I had dinner the night before my interview with an employee and a girl interviewing for an internship. It was again a very informal and relaxed setting. I got to see Madison and it was a pleasant experience. The next day I completed the interview, which consisted of: a presentation, two one on one interviews, a case study, three intelligence tests (math, writing and coding), a tour of the facilities, short presentations by employees from different departments and a one on one talk with a project manager to learn about the position in detail. It was a very fast day which was strictly scheduled. There were other potential employees as well who I saw throughout the day. They kept us on the move every minute we were there. Overall it seemed like a nice place to work. It definitely felt like a college campus, most employees are very young-- I did ask if people stay for their career cause the majority of employees looked no older than 30. I was told this was because Epic is a young company and that they do have employees who are starting to retire. Employee life seems very independent-- they don't micro-manage. Everyone is very friendly and you do get the impression that they want you to do well in your interview. Just go prepared and with an open mind.
I do have a few criticisms of Epic. The first is they emphasize how they do not want their employees to feel like a number, but that principle doesn't apply during the interview process. At the end of my day on site an HR rep took my photo which was added to a rather large pile. I overheard her speaking with a current employee about how they interview about 50 people a day and they need the photos to help keep track because there are just too many people. This came up multiple times-- even all of my cab drivers said the same thing. Hundreds of people are interviewed a week so don't feel bad if you do not receive an offer. My second criticism is they will not discuss several things that are pretty standard. For example salary-- all they would tell me was it was competitive. Lastly, I was told via voicemail that I didn't get the job. I emailed the HR rep after asking for some post-interview feedback and was told that they couldn't give any feedback. I was really disappointed about that. I really feel that Epic should have extended the common courtesy of post-interview feedback.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Madison, WI (took a day)
Phone Interview followed by single day, multi part interview.
No dress code required, went for very business casual and fit right in.
For the presentation - be light hearted and engage them, as they looked bored to start.

Interviewed Dec 2011 (took 4+ weeks)
I applied to Epic through my college's career website and was emailed to schedule a video interview about a week later. The video interview was with a recruiter and seemed more awkward than a phone interview. The recruiter was very nice, however, and asked me basic questions about my resume, what kind of job I would like at Epic (between Project Manager/Recruiter) and told me more about the company. I was then invited to come to Madison two weeks later for a final round interview. The final round interview consisted of a case study, presentation, three intelligence tests, and a personal interview. I did not receive an offer and was informed via phone call about two weeks after my on-site interview. The experience was okay, but I am not upset that I wasn't given an offer.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in Madison, WI (took 2 days)
I read over every single post prior to interviewing with Epic and the reviews are spot on! Let me start by saying the interviewing process is intense but well worth it even if you are not extended an offer. Once you have gone through their process you are prepared to take on any interview.
Tips and advice:
1. Don't stress about the presentation! You are in a room with three very friendly and engaging people. Don't try and dazzle them with your software or management knowledge and experience but rather present to them on something you enjoy and are extremely knowledeable. There were people presenting on zombies who got an offer so, as I said, don't fret about the topic just focus on your presentation skills. **Bring props!**
2. If you dislike standardized tests, you are in for a treat! I am personally not bad at standardized tests as I have taken the LSAT and scored quite well on it. I am, however, terrible at tests where I have no time to prepare for them. They are not basic math problems but rather quite tricky Math and English questions. You might wonder how English/ reaidng comprehension questions could be challanging- but they are!
3. Don't bank on an offer. They fly 85% of their candidates out to Madison, so it doesn't mean they are very serious about you. Im surprised they can afford to spend that kind of money on applicants. You will be up against students from top schools such as Harvard and Stanford, so in my eyes its not the end of the world if you don't get an offer. Go learn about Epic, do your best, and HAVE FUN!
I thought I was quite a strong candidate with having a high GPA and experience with 2 fortune 100 companies, but they are looking for something very specific- I couldn't tell you what. I don't think anyone but HR really knows.
**If you are up for a challange and you are ready to accept a job that requires you to work 60+ hours a week for only 60 grand this is the place for you! The average time a Project Manager stays with the company is about 2 years as they burn out quite quickly. You get a lot of experience under your belt quite fast but this is not a place to settle down with but rather a stepping stone into getting a position with a company like Cisco or HP.

1st round: Epic HR e-mailed to schedule for a phone interview -which went really smoothly.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Madison, WI (took 5 weeks)
The interview process started with a personality and basic math test, followed by a brief phone interview. The phone interview was fairly basic consisting of mostly questions about my interest in Epic and educational background. I was then selected for the on-site interview day in Madison. The day was long, but very structured and organized. There was a 2 person case analysis, one on one interview, 10 minute presentationa and some testing. The testing is basically SAT type questions related to verbal and math skills. The process took about 5 weeks and I was offered the position after recieving a phone call from the recruiter. Be prepared and you will do fine.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Madison, WI (took 3 days)
I've made it through 2/3 of the interview process. I applied online and then was contacted by Epic to do a personality/math test. Really easy math and the logic problems are about the only thing that take time. After I took the test, I had a really easy phone interview where I ended up asking more questions than the interviewer. Then was asked to set up a final interview day at Epic

Interviewed Dec 2011 (took a day)
Basically told me what the job is about and what the company was doing. We agreed that I might not be a good fit. The interviewer is patient, he told me a lot about the job postion. Actually I applied for a different position but was assigned to interview for this position after an online apitude test . Overall I think it is a good company because the interviewer is nice. I was offered to take a written test, but I do not like the position and declined the offer. I hope this will be helpful. The company is not very big so it is very careful when inviting people for onsite, thus a lot of prescreening is going on.
