Interviewed Nov 2011 in Boston, MA (took 2 weeks)
The interview process started with a phone screen with a national tax recruiter. Afterwards, I had a short phone call (unofficial screen) with the regional tax recruiter who became my main point of contact. I was then scheduled for three one on one interviews with tax partners in the group I will be working for. I asked to speak to someone closer to my level, so I ended up with a fourth conversation at the last minute. I received a call later that day that they liked me and would be sending me an offer the next week.
There were no technical questions. The main topics were discussing my work experience and why I wanted to leave the accounting firm I was working for. The people were very nice, and the office has an amazing view.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Boston, MA (took 2 months)
The phone interview came after 3 months of my submitting the application. And in 2 weeks I was contacted for one of their Interview days. I was scheduled to speak with 3 people, manager, senior manager and a partner. Unfortunately none of them knew what position they were interviewing me for. Thats what raised red flags for me. No one had any specific questions for me since they had no clue what was going on.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Boston, MA (took a day)
Met with a recruiter at a career fair. She was really nice as you'd expect. Followed up with her afterwords and scheduled a phone interview for a week later. I always feel phone interviews are tough and I wasn't able to get a read on how I did. Obviously did not do great as I never heard back and she didn't respond to my email after.

Casual back-and-forth interview, a few behavioral questions but not terribly difficult ones. A brief review of the resume, but it is really more up to you to bring up your experience. The night before the interview the firm holds a meet-and-greet night, so you have the opportunity to speak with the interviewer, other people at the firm, previous interns and other hopefuls.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Boston, MA (took 3 weeks)
EY has extremely nice and helpful employees. During the first interview, the interviewer gave me not so difficult questions but if you are not careful, the interview will become you asking questions and interviewer answering them. EY is very quick at giving back result of the interview, unlike other 3 acct. firms, I received my result 1-2 days later. Tips for interview: be yourself!!! i cannot stress this enough. They can tell when your answers are script or you are being fake.

The structure of the interview, is that there is a pre interview social, then the first one on one interview for 30 min, then a second pre-interview social, than another interview, this time at the office. You will meet with a partner and two other employees, where they will have you a few behavioral questions to see how you work in teams, leadership, communicating. You must be personable, but still very professional. They need to make sure they can work with you, so be excited and try to connect with interviewer.

Very behavioral. Not technical at all. Know your resume inside and out. Know why you want to work in public accounting. Have plenty of questions to ask.
The culture tends to be very outgoing and friendly. Introverts don't last long here.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Boston, MA (took 2 days)
The people were very nice, asked general questions, nothing was asked about my knowledge of the company. A general description of the job was provided, but very basic and hard to follow without knowing the internal structure of the company.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Boston, MA (took 1+ week)
It was extremely easy-going and laid-back. A lot of behavioural questions and background questions - how would your best friend describe you? etc. Not as many questions about your resume, but make sure you present a solid front. The interviewer was deceptively friendly and led me to not-so-positive comments, so MAKE SURE you always stay positive - this is key! They want amiable, positive, friendly, and people who they can easily integrate into their community.
