Interviewed Feb 2010 in Gurgaon, Haryana (India) (took 2 days)
5 Tier process
1st - Aptitude Test on lines of entrance exams of B-schools in India - no negative marking though, so mark as many questions randomly even if you don't know the answer. Need a minimum score and mostly everyone sails through this part
2nd - HR round. They will ask you about what you know about Ey.
3rd - Interview with your to-be supervisor. Standard questions on why you want to work with Ey and not other big four. What are your plans for future esp. future education (they don't want to take people who have given any entrance exams). A case study may be given.
4th Round - Manager round: Can talk of extra-curricular activities taken up and why didn't you pursue them as a career. Future plans, Five year plans/Ten year plans/expectations from the work place
5th Round - Interview with Partner: Stress Test. To see how do you respond under stress. Talk about perseverance, hard work and seeing good.bad things as opportunities
You earn Brownie points in the interview rounds if
-you read up stuff related to Job Description (such as if you are interviewed for auditor independence team - have a basic idea of what an audit is, what is meant by independence, role of SEC in USA, some basic rules regarding independence, etc.)
- Ask the interviewer insightful questions about the job, show them that you are genuinely interested in the knowing your job profile, and the want to learn and making a decision on that (and not the brand value of the firm)
Interview Questions
If you want to go to a venture capitalist and ask for a loan for a new product in your business, what exactly will be the parameters/figures that you will give in a single page to convince?
Given the Satyam Scam, as an accounting/auditing firm, give one thing that should have done to avoid (and was not done) to maintain auditor independence and could have avoided the collusion?
Other Details
The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview and an IQ/Intelligence Test.
