Interviewed Feb 2010 in New York, NY (took 3 weeks)
I initially had a phone interview with a recruiter and was then invited for an in-office visit. At the in-office interview all candidates for different positions were placed in a conference room and given some light breakfast and was given an overview of the firm. Then I had interviews with 3 different Tax professionals, I believe there was a partner, director and or manager.

Interviewed Oct 2009 (took a day)
Very pleasant experience. Questions related to future goals, prior experience etc. Discussed the overtime and my opinion on that. Managers were nice and welcoming. Explained responsibilities that I would be taking on if hired. HR people were nice as well, very informative. Interview lasted one hour with each manager, three in total

Interviewed Sep 2009 (took 3 weeks)
Met EY personnel at various on-campus events. Submitted resume to be selected for on-campus interview. Participated in on-campus interview to be selected for office visit. Visited offices of multiple Big-4 firms. Selected EY based on career opportunities, relationships made during recruiting, and reputation in local market. HR contacts were professional and thorough. Interview process was well organized and run exceptionally well. Interviewers were friendly and responded within days after each step of process.

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Chicago, IL (took 2 weeks)
First round was just a 1:1 interview. They treated you very nicely for the 2nd round with dinner and a fancy hotel room. You do three 1:1 interviews and they let you know in a week if you get it or not.

Interviewed Oct 2010 (took 2 weeks)
Applied through university on-campus recruiting for tax staff position. We had a pre-interview dinner the night before the interview. Met with a manager from the local office who then referred my information to the recruiter at the office to which I was applying. Did not ask that many questions - It was more like a conversation.

they just want to meet you and get to know you. they are looking to see that you have the ability and desire to learn. they want to see that you will be able to connect with clients and work with their people. there were no real puzzles or trick questions. all rounds were very straight forward. academic success is important (looking for higher gpas)

Interviewed Sep 2009 in San Jose, CA (took 3 days)
The interview process is long and drawn out. Not just for EY but for all of the Big 4 accounting firms. You jump through their hoops, you go to the socials, you're told how amazing you are, and then you get an email after weeks of effort saying "sorry, we don't want you" It's really a disheartening process. If you make it past the first round of interviews then you're treated quite well. I was flown out to the location and given an office tour and met quite a few people. I really like the general attitude of the people who were in the office.

Negotiation Details
There really wasn't a negotiation phase because I only have the one offer. I worry that others are getting paid more because they have better offers to fight for.
