Interviewed Jul 2011 (took 6 months)
It was a very long time between my applying for the position and my interview. So long, in fact, that I had forgotten I'd even applied. First I received a call to set up a phone interview. Then I had a very brief phone interview with one of the people I would be working with, where he asked me why I chose to pursue a degree in finance, how familiar I was with accounting, could I use excel, and a couple of other easy questions. Then, after I was offered the job, I had to pass a drug test and a background check.

Negotiation Details
I wasn't able to negotiate, but I wouldn't have tried even if I could. The rate of pay that they offered me was fantastic for an intern.

I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed May 2011 in Warrenville, IL (took 2 days)
Very friendly environment and everyone maintained a positive attitude.
I was having difficultly meeting the designated interview days so they tried to get it moved to another day so it would be easier on me. It couldn't get moved but the HR person went above and beyond to try and get the day moved.
Question pertaining to their core values, beliefs, and ethics: How do you demonstrate these/specific experiences?

Interviewed May 2010 in Chicago, IL (took a year or more)
I applied for an open position in Communications at ComEd in Chicago. For the last two years (yes, 730 days!), I have seen positions become available and consequently, I have continued to apply. I landed three interviews and completed a writing test. I have never received a rejection letter and continue to try to become employed there. I just learned that another position was filled by internal candidates. Here's the advice I have for other interview candidates: don't waste your time. ComEd will string you along telling you first that they have a hiring freeze and then they end up hiring someone on the inside.

Interviewed Apr 2009 (took 1+ week)
The phone interview went relatively well. The only negative was the interviewers seemed to talk over each other and not realize it. I'm not sure if this was a problem with the connection. They asked pretty basic interview questions, most of which were behavioral. The interview was very, very traditional and there was a lack of a personal touch, making it hard to judge the company's culture.

Interviewed Apr 2010 (took a day)
The company culture seemed to be male-dominated but I've heard that's not the case. They asked a lot of questions about my work history and the size of the budgets or departments that I have handled in the past. I had an interview with the person who would be the peer and the hiring manager. They were both very direct and the hiring manager said that sometimes it's the culture fit that matters most. Of course, they also asked why I was interested in the energy industry and Exelon.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Oakbrook Terrace, IL (took a day)
The interview process was simple an non-invasive. I applied internally, submitted my resume, and I'm sure the HR specialist had access to past performance reviews. On my own I reached out to the hiring manager to explain my interest and why I would be a good fit. The interview itself was conducted by the hiring manager and a future colleague. The questions each related to specific topics like stress, organizational skills, leadership, etc. Answers were expected to follow the STAR format. There were no aptitude tests.
