Interviewed Jan 2012 in Bellevue, WA (took 3 days)
I was referred through a friend of a friend. Things move swiftly. I submitted a resume on friday and the following monday I was asked through email to schedule a phone interview with the hiring manager. That monday, I spoke with the hiring manager at length for a bit longer than was scheduled. Things seemed to go great, and I was invited to talk with the hiring manager over lunch.
We discussed a good deal about the position, and opinions on how the position would be held, as well as company culture and where they are going. Things seemed to turn out well.
I was then invited a week or so later for an interview loop. I interviewed with four people, including the VP of the department. As far as I could tell, skills and personality interviews went well. Lots of smiles and encouraging body language.
At the very end of the interview loop for the day, the HR representative was saying goodbye and it felt just a little off or odd, like they were waiting for me to say something profound. I chalked it up to being tired from talking all day long.
I had no response for a week, then a request for another interview with a technical person in the department. We spoke for a good deal of time, ticking through questions and having a very active discussion about the tasks at hand.
After that discussion, which went overtime by approximately a half hour, I never heard from them again, until a few weeks later, when I received the pre-written letter stating that they have chosen another candidate. What is interesting is at the time of this writing they still have the open job requisition posted. I wish them good luck on filling the position.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Bellevue, WA (took 6 weeks)
Applied on-line via the ExpediaJobs website. Recieved an automated response and a personal followup one week later. It took another week to set up a phone screen with the Dev Manager. Phone screen went very smoothly -- he seemed very knowledgable about Test and open about the team's need at the moment.
10 days later I had a full day of interviews. I am local to their HQ so no travel arrangements were needed. Every person I talked to had the words 'Senior' 'Director' or 'Architect' in their title -- they asked a lot of very probing questions around people management style, fit for team, Agile experience -- only one person had a technical question for me. The Test Architect drew a block diagram of a system on the board and had me describe my approach to testing it. The system was fairly simple but interacted with a lot of 3rd party back-end services. The intent of the question seemed to be to see if I could indentify where the complexity of this system was -- and where I would focus my time in testing.
2 weeks later found out that this position was filled internally but that transition had opened up another Test Manager position -- could I come in *again* for another round of interviews? Shorter this time around -- the hiring manager took me to lunch and had two other testers ask technical questions similar to the first round. Be prepared to think on your feet and ask lots of clarifying questions.
Perceptions of the place: Beautiful building and surroundings! The people are very dedicated to Agile methods and are moving quickly on short development cycles.

No stock options upon hire but a generous signing bonus makes up for it. Bonus comes in 2 parts and I will need to stay 12 months after each payment in order to keep it all. 2 years at Expedia seems very doable.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Bellevue, WA (took 3 days)
Started with an e-mail requesting basic information from the HR Recruiter, then we had an HR screening interview with basic questions about my experience and my last job (nothing technical). Next she set up a phone interview with a technical manager, this interview was all technical. He wanted to know how to speed up database queries, what solution you would choose for a friend's wedding website if you had to build one, a couple of java questions (difference between abstract and interface, about JUnit mock objects -- when to use one), uhm... how to troubleshoot a co-worker's machine if the page was returning very slowly. Unfortunately it never got to a personable interview, where they would learn why I'm different from other devs and why they'd want to hire me specifically... too bad. Also to note, I had applied to a Software Engineer in Test position and the recruiter recommended this one instead. Every other job I apply to at Expedia now, whether I feel fully qualified or not, I get turned down for before the interview stage. The interview went well so I'm not sure what the issue is, but... well, ace the interview the first time around if you can!

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Bellevue, WA (took 2 days)
Got a call from the recruiter. We set up a phone interview. Then she set me up with a 1:1 with four team members. Everyone was very nice and efficient. The interview process was organized and everyone showed up on time. They make it easy with an instruction packet and they validate parking. Overall it was a great experience.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Bellevue, WA (took 2 months)
The interview process began with an initial phone screening (about 1 hour), followed by a skills/intelligence test to ensure that the analyst knows basic math and reading (1.5 to 2.5 hours), as well as a personality test (1-2 hours). After quite some time had elapsed (by this I mean weeks), HR called you for an in-person interview with 4 staff members (this was conducted 1:1); during my interview this consisted of the fraud manager, two other managers within the department, and a senior level fraud analyst. Overall, this took about 4 hours. The interviews asked you basic interview questions as well as interview questions that would be relevant to the job at hand. If you know your stuff and know how to market your skills, this should be relatively easy, but overall this was a rather intense and time-consuming interview process.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Bellevue, WA (took a day)
I received a canned, automated reply immediately following my online application informing me that Expedia would review my application and would be in touch shortly (or similar language). Approximately 1.5 weeks later, I received an e-mail from a human (recruiter) saying that they wanted to gather more information. A questionnaire was attached in which they inquired as to a.) Why I am interested in the particular position I applied for. b.) Why I am leaving my current employer. c.) What I hope to gain in the role I am applying for and d) a set of generic questions related to whether or not I had ever applied there before, whether or not I would be willing to move or travel (and what % of the time I would be willing to travel), whether I am a US citizen, etc.
I sent the dates and times I could commit to a telephone interview. During the telephone interview, they asked questions related to my previous work experience (what kinds of releases I had worked on, what challenges I had faced and how I overcame them, etc.
