My experience started with a company-wide presentation geared for new graduates at their branch in Kent. With a rep from each of their divisions present; each rep gave a run down of their department and what an internship would look like and the prospect of being hired on after completing it.
After the presentations (1.5 hours later) open interviews were held and you were assigned with a random Exp employee for a short 15 minute interview were they evaluate your skills and intelligence level.
Then I was contacted by phone by one of the department heads and conducted another short interview this time over the phone - I was offered an interview in person. I was interviewed by two associates and asked the usual type interview questions and evaluated for industry knowledge. They wanted to know about my past job experiences and how I work under pressure. I did well, and they made me an offer for an internship.
Interview Question – What do you know about air export in the U.S., please explain? View Answer
Reason for Declining – The internship offered was poorly structured and the compensation was well below market w/ no incentives, in addition the corporate culture seemed very rigid and off putting.

Interview Details – They called me to come in, was interviewed by two people at once. Then they invited me back to be interviewed with the head manager. That went great also, but then found out I did not get the job. Maybe it was because I was a little over qualified.

Met company representatives at a job fair at Western Washington University. Talked with one of them for a while and handed in a resume. I received a phone call a few weeks later and had a phone interview setup. After a half hour phone interview an in person interview was setup at their offices in Seattle. The office is nice, looks professional, everything very clean. The interview was with two sets of two people, the questions fit the questions for an Intern that doesn't really know what he is looking for (which was good for me as I didn't really know) but they got to know me as a person to figure out how well I would do. Culture is the thing I didn't like, it is uptight, everyone wears business professional, guys wear ties, upper managements adds a jacket to that. Got a phone call next business day saying I got the Internship and I accepted.
Be sure to dress up for them and if you are wearing a jacket that isn't a business jacket, do not hang it over your chair, that is frowned upon.

Negotiation Details – Did not negotiate for an Intern offer. It was hourly wage with no benefits (except some awesome coworkers taking me out to lunch!).
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Seattle, WA Apr 2009 – Reviewed Apr 20, 2010
Interview Details – Application for the position was easy. I was called shortly after and offered a phone interview. Phone interview was about 30 minutes and very casual. Within a week I was offered an in person interview. The in person interview was simple and made me feel very comfortable. They seemed to be interested more in who I was, how I thought, and in my social skills than in my resume.
Interview Question – How would you deal with a conflict where you didnt agree with the way your co-worker was working or acting? Answer Question
No Offer – Interviewed in Miami, FL Feb 2010 – Reviewed Feb 24, 2010
Interview Details – It was an attitude interview. They look at your personality, whether you are a match for their environment and goals or not. Asked about strengths, weaknesses, previous challenges. The person interviewing was cool.

Did an initial phone screen for an IT Project Manager position - the screen went very well and was informative. The interviewer was engaged on the phone and wanted to talk up the good of the company - She asked my current salary which I was happy to give.
The next week, I went in for 1:1 and Panel Interviews again went well. The last interview was with the group manager - She told me that things were looking very good so far and wanted to talk salary. When I told her my present salary, she was surprised and stated that their budgeted salaray was nearly $30K less. I wasn't sure if she weas negotiating or not, asked a few more questions, and then realized she was serious. I explained that I was up front about my salary needs and that the person who gave me the ohone interview said that I was in-line with what they were looking for. I then told them to please not waste the time of other professionals in the future.
General impression - not so good...

No Offer – Interviewed in South San Francisco, CA Apr 2007 – Reviewed Nov 8, 2009
Interview Details – First round interview consisted of a group interview with 2 department managers. They asked typical questions relating to work experience and why I wanted to work here. Nothing too difficult. The second interview was exactly the same as the second. The final interview was a one-on-one interview with the VP of the department. The questions were not challenging at all, but there were a lot of them. Overall it was a typical interview process.
Interview Question – How does your work history relate to this position? Answer Question
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Jul 2007 – Reviewed Nov 8, 2009
Interview Details – The process was very quick. Brief phone interview. Scheduled the next day was the panel interview with three people(all of whom became close colleagues and two of which were highly impersonal in the interview). THere was not much information exchange in the interview, it seemed they were hiring for attitude. After the 30 minute panel interview I had a one on one with a high level manager(same day or next, can't remember) which again seemed like an attitude interview and I was offered the position that day or the next by phone, can't remember.
Interview Question – How well do you operate under stress? View Answer
Negotiation Details – I did not negotiate on good faith. In hindsight and knowing what I do of how things are run at Expeditors, I don't believe they would have been very flexible in negotiation or that it would have been worth it to play hardball at that stage.
