Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 1+ week)
It took me nearly 2-weeks to complete all the tests and paperwork, and it was ONLY for temporary placement. I was very dissatisfied with the amount of work I was offered, and when I was offered employment it was usually last minute (because another temp was sick or missing) and consisted of less than four hours per day foe less than part- or half-time work. Professionalism is not always appreciated by consistent work. I felt there was favoritism toward young men and day laborers rather than professionals looking for a foot into the job market.

Interviewed Mar 2012 (took a day)
I applied online when I saw a few jobs advertised on an internet job board. I received an email almost immediately asking requesting that I take a personality and skills test. After I completed those tests and my scores were sent in, I called the office and scheduled an interview. I arrived on time and waited almost 2 hrs for my interview to begin. The receptionist claimed that they were overbooked. After filling out paperwork and taking more skills tests and personality tests, I watched a video about the company. Finally after more waiting, I interviewed with the staffing agent. He was very nice and friendly. The interview lasted only 10 minutes and I was offered a job with the company. However, since my availability was limited due to school, I was told that once I had an open availability, to call in and see if any positions matching my skills were available. It has been 2 months since, and I have called and left messages and no one has responded to any of my emails. I recently called and spoke to the guy who interviewed me and he was very rude.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Plano, TX (took 3 weeks)
Manager stated that I had kids even though I'd never discussed my personal life on purpose.
Manager had industry knowledge but no knowledge in marketing or sales. Clearly didn't market her business in any way other than with ever changing Business Development people.

Require the highest level pay for the position you are taking because the long days, far beyond a 40 hour week particularly for the recruiters, will reduce your real hourly pay to minimum wage or similar.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Visalia, CA (took a day)
First and foremost it is imperative to treat every person with respect. This office employs unorthodox ways of interviewing. It was an unpleasant and unwarranted feeling to wait patiently in the reception area as the interviewer dismantled the self esteem of the young lady interviewing before me. I feel that it is inappropriate to interview, or consider having an interview with the office door open so all the others, staff, and clients waiting in the reception room can hear the good, bad, or indifferent information about the interviewee. This is inappropriate behavior, degrading, and immoral to have any information up for grabs for listening ears like myself. I felt embarrassed to be in that establishment, or a lack there of.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
As I was approached by the young woman who was to interview me, I quickly looked at my watch to find that she was already 35 minutes late to interview me. I shook her hand politely and asked how her day was, she nicely obliged. However, being seated in her office and noticing that she has no apparent professional skills; she nicely left the door open for me as well. I quickly found that being a full time online student already put me into the red zone. What I found interesting about her remark “My clients are looking for a permanent employee, this position will not work for you because you are a student.” I dismissed her ignorance of education and she quickly asked me about some other random stuff. I answered politely. She asked me what position I was applying for. Why would she not know that if she has my online application in front of her? Strike two; I will dismiss the lack of technology within the office to relay pertinent information to the interviewer so they can collectively ask appropriate questions to employ an educated individual like myself. I then pulled out a list of my questions and the first one on my list “What clients (businesses) do you work with?” Her response, hunched over in her chair, shrug of the shoulders, “Name anyone and I will tell you if we do or not.” I quietly and quickly shut my folder that contained my two degrees, my transcripts for working on my third degree, my references, resume, cover letter, and personal information, smiled and said, “Thank you for your time.” They said, “Why are leaving?” I said, “I asked a specific question, instead you gave me a rhetorical answer.” I felt completely insulted by a person who apparently is not knowledgeable of the position that she holds, has a lack of people skills, unable to use common sense, the inability to use critical thinking skills, and cognitive thought. On that note, I wish the best of luck to any one individual applying to any positions with this firm.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Eugene, OR (took a day)
I filled out an online application with my work experience and applied for a few office temp positions listed on their site. I was called in for an interview (can't remember how much time passed) at their office. They asked me to bring my driver's license and social security card. When I arrived, the receptionist had me take a few screening tests, one for basic math (I was allowed to use a calculator), one for filing (putting words in alphabetical order), and one for proofreading (looking for misspelled words). I also had to sign several waivers saying that I was willing to undergo a background check, drug test, etc.
After completing the tests, I had my interview with one of the staffing people. He went through the past jobs that I had listed and asked what I did at each, what I liked, and what I didn't like. Also asked if I'd ever been late for work, missed work, and how I got around (car or public transit). He asked when I was available, what type of work I was looking for, and what pay I expected. (I said that I was available anytime and expected around $10/hr).
My interviewer said that he thought they would be able to find temp work for me and he would give me a call. Before I left I also had to watch a video about getting health benefits and sign off on whether I wanted benefits or not.

Interviewed Dec 2009 in Portland, OR (took 2 weeks)
An in-person interview with a staffing consultant led to recruitment for an internal position. My name was sent to the regional person in charge of hiring, who kicked my name back down to the local office manager. I interviewed with the entire staff, one at a time, and waited two days before finding out I was hired.

One interview. Pretty much, they reviewed the requirements of the position over the phone on a Friday, I agreed to the conditions and went in for a drug test two hours later. Started work that next Monday.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in San Rafael, CA (took 1 week)
The in-person interview went well. But 2 days later the interviewer called me and was concerned about me being too nice. He also, asked me how I felt about working for someone much younger. That question made me feel very uncomfortable because I know that my age has nothing to do with my skills and qualifications. That question should have never been asked of me. That was an unfair question.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Columbia, MD (took a day)
It is misleading to say I had an interview because it felt like an appointment. I had to complete multiple tests and paperwork. There were four computer tests: word; excel, data entry, and typing. Only the typing test was timed. The arduous part about the typing test was that some of the letters on the keyboard were faded, so that naturally hurt the results of my typing test. Still, I believe I passed all of the tests. There was also some additional rudimentary arithmetic, alphabetizing, problem solving, and word problems on paper. A calculator was provided, so the majority of the tests were straightforward. After I completed all the tests, I was given a booklet and then told to check in once a week to see about any vacancies. It has been over one month, but they still have not found anything for me. I am unsure if my staffing consultant or any of the staffing consultants are helping people find employment. I thought I was interviewing for a secretary position because that was the position listed, but I received a booklet saying Welcome to Express for an Express Associate position (pays nothing). Why would they advertise a position that never even existed? You are only paid if you are given assignments. But they offered me no assignments, so there is no incentive to being an Express Associate. The entire process was a time consuming four hours of my life that I will never get back. I squandered all that time for nothing.

Interviewed Mar 2011 (took a day)
Applied on-line and within 1 day received an e-mail from one of the representatives at a nearby office to request I visit for an interview and take an Excel/Word skills test, which I scheduled for the following week.
I arrived and waited for about 15 minutes after my scheduled time, as their telephone and e-mail traffic was starting to increase. I met and interviewed for about 10 minutes, which was positive and then took the Excel and Word assessment on their system. I then was directed to another terminal where the company orientation was presented on a UTube video when prompted and it was very informative; simple and to-the-point. After that I greeted the interviewer who reiterated when to call in my availability and then I left the office. The interviewer was very comfortable, but seemed a little tense in trying to be very thorough but succeeded. While I was taking the Excel test, a call was answered by the woman who interviewed me and she directed it to whom I presumed to be the office manager, who explained to the caller that they had failed to notify her office of their absence and another person was called for a job instead. After she ended the call professionally, she spoke candidly about the person not being available, loud enough for everyone to hear since there are no walls separating the work areas; this method of communication is practiced and apparently acceptable. I found it unprofessional; such disclosure should be confined to the client's folder for the record by way of e-mail or written note culled from a telephone call or visit by the client to the office. Overall, the visit was positive, and I sensed some energy in the office climate. I've called in a few times but I have received no calls for jobs as of yet.
