They are nice people but I think everyone in the company is highly incompetent in what they do. So, apply for the position if you are not an "A" employee. My sense is that you will be a good fit and they will select you over the others. I was interviewed by 4 people and never even received any kind of feedback after the last interview. They sent an interview confirmation e-mail with someone else's name to my e-mail address. Oops!!

Interviewed Jul 2011 in South Jordan, UT (took a day)
A week or so after applying online I received an email from an Extend Health recruiter asking if I'd be interested in interviewing with the "hiring manager." I assured him I would and we set up a time. I arrived early and checked in with the receptionist. I only had to wait a few minutes before the guy I was interviewing with came out to get me. He struck me as a nice guy, so I felt comfortable right away.
He led me back to a conference room and we sat down on opposite sides of the table. Our interview then consisted of a lot of Q and A. I asked and he shared a lot about how their business model works, and what the position they were looking to fill would be doing. I learned a ton about the very interesting niche that Extend fills, and became very excited about the position itself. Furthermore I was enthused because it sounded like a work environment I'd enjoy. They don't require people to adhere to strict schedules as long as they're getting their work done. They're a "casual" work environment, and the vibe in the office was relaxed and placid.
After learning about Extend's business model and what the position entailed, the manager spent a good deal of time sharing with me all the benefits of working for Extend. He didn't ask me any normal interview questions--seemingly because he felt that having read my cover letter and resume he knew what I had to offer. I don't remember how long we chatted but it was quite a while. When we petered off he informed me that he had candidates take an Excel test to see what they could do. He said it wasn't pass/fail; It just helped him get a sense for what someone knew so he would know how much he'd need to plan on teaching them.
The test was tricky, but fair, I felt. I managed to complete it with a few hints from him and then he suggested we go speak with the department manager. The department manager asked me a few more interview style questions ("so, tell me about yourself..."), added his two cents on what the position entailed, shared with me again how awesome it was to work for them, and then we all shook hands and parted ways.
All in all I felt that the interview went exceedingly well and I expected a job offer in the next week (which was when they told me they hoped to wrap things up). I was stunned to receive a generic decline email from a generic HR email address the next week informing me that they'd selected a candidate that more specifically met their requirements...which was insulting because I knew I *DID* meet their requirements.
Other than feeling sorely disappointed to not receive an offer, and instead get the generic "no thanks" email, the actual process up to that point was very positive and I highly recommend them.

Interview was off-site. Interview was general in nature and more informative about the company then questioning my qualifications. Overall perception of those I met was the process was unorganized and not well planned out.

Interviewed Aug 2009 in South Jordan, UT (took a day)
A recruiter called and scheduled an interview with me. I went and completed the one on one interview which was standard. Job was offered on the spot. The workspace was clean and professional. The people were all nice. After working there for a while, they cut a few benefits that they had offered and tried to make it sound like they had never offered them.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Salt Lake City, UT (took 4+ weeks)
There was a number of interviews with various people, everything took a really long time; seemed like a lot of questions that didn't really effectively measure if I could do the job, just if I could be self-sufficient and manage a bunch of people without bothering upper mgmt. Questions were more along the lines of 'How would you handle a difficult client? Are you college educated? How would you handle the sales to service cycle?
