Interviewed Nov 2011 in City of London, England (United Kingdom) (took 1 week)
The first step is a phone interview, which is relatively easy and consists of basic questions about your CV, why this role and what is important to consultancy. The second step is a combination of three: Excel, finance and mathematical. They are not too difficult. Advice, look up vlookup in excel and brush up on your algebra. The third step is an assessment centre, where you have to do a microteach session (10 min teaching something)and group exercise. Unfortunately, I didn't get to the final stage.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took a day)
FactSet contacted me less than a week after I sent cv+cover by email to apply for the graduate position.
They proposed me a date and time asking me a confirmation of mobile and underlining that the phone interview would be about my motivations to work for FactSet.
Since I am not a native English speaker, I was worried about listening skills but I did not understand only one question about financial situation that I replied with a general answer.
Besides that, the interviewer was careful about my real knowledge about the activity of FactSet, their competitors, products and the role of consultant in the company.
No technical questions, only one question about the financial crisis

Interviewed Oct 2010 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 weeks)
3 part process
- First Round - relatively straightforward numerical/financial/excel test to determine your skill level.
- Second Round - 1-1 interviews with HR and senior consultant, quite laid back and conversational, went through CV and knowledge of the company and role itself
- Final Round - 3 hour interview with director level employees from investment banking and investment management teams. A brief 'test' on the actual software tool the company provides and a listen in on a call from a client.

Interviewed Oct 2010 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 3 days)
The company HR manager called me and asked me if I could attend a testing session in their office in central London on the next day. we had a math test, an excel test and a test on financial markets. On the next day I was called to attend a 1:1 interview. The interview was carried out by two consultants who were really nice and asked questions mainly about my motivation and some competency questions to make sure I had the skills they required. Standard questions. I was called by the end of the day and asked to attend an assessment day the next morning. It consisted of two interviews each lasting for about 45 min, a training session on the product they offer and an informal sitting with a consultant where you observe the work they do.
