Interviewed Dec 2011 in Atlanta, GA (took 2 months)
The interview process is backwards. I was interviewed 1:1 for the first interview, and the second was over the phone. The further along you get in the interview with them, the less personal it is. The questions were test-like and juvenile. "What goals did you set this year?"

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 2 weeks)
Had a phone interview with HR representative and then interviewed with the branch manager of the location of my potential employment. That interview was followed a week later by an interview with the Regional Manager. Another week later I was contacted again by Human Resources to inform me of my offer and I was given a week to accept.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Gainesville, FL (took a day)
I applied for a full time position through school. After few days, we set up an interview on campus. The interview was pretty simple. They guy was very friendly and helpful, he shared his experiences in the company with me. Common questions like why do you want to work for Ferguson? What type of work experience you have? After 3 weeks, I got an email from HR manager letting me know that I move up to the 2nd interview. I have my ph interview. next week.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 1 week)
For this interview there are three stages: The on campus interview, phone interview and third meeting with the credit managers. The on campus interview were behavioral questions ie "Tell me about yourself, what is your pet peeve, tell me about a time when you went above and beyond etc." so that was easy and my interviewer was very easygoing. After that you have a phone interview with HR. HR asks the same questions, but they want to know why Ferguson and why the credit trainee program. Make sure you know about the company and why the program. I did not do enough research on the company and did not do as well as I could have for the phone interview.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Cleveland, OH (took 6 months)
Process took a really long time. Had to remain persistent to hear back from them. Cleveland branch seems to be growing and doing well. The people really care about what they are doing and want to help the customer. Ferguson seems like a great place to start a career. They want to make sure that you are ok with starting out in the warehouse and then open to relocation when opportunities open up.

Hard to negotiate in tough times. I would not recommend negotiating but I do not think it would really hurt either.

Interviewed Mar 2011 (took 6 weeks)
This company is definitely serious about the personality type that they are hiring. They go through a lot of trouble to interview their prospects 3 different times. The questions of the first interview are like any other interview: What are your goals? When did you go above and beyond for a customer? What makes you a good sales person?

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Denver, CO (took 6 weeks)
I had 2 phone interviews in a span of 4 days where they asked basic behavioral questions (what are your goals?, Why did you choose to go to XYZ University?, Tell me about I time where you went over and above to help a customer, etc.) I received the offer exactly 6 weeks from the date of the first interview. The process was a little too drawn out.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Houston, TX (took 4+ weeks)
The interview process starts with a 1 on 1 interview, followed by a telephone interview, and then a office visit to the location where they are looking to place you. Very friendly and relaxed environment. Work environment is basically a cubicle or open area with a desk. Job would not be very challenging and you would have a decent work life balance.

Reason for Declining
The 401k and other benefits were lacking. A mandatory 50 hour work week for $42,000 is not quite enough for my needs.

I got the interview through a College or University and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview and a Drug Test.
