Spoke with a recruiter, set up an interview over drinks, followed by a in store interview the following day. Very low key, very laid back. Had the feeling it was a done deal. High turnover seems to be an issue with this company.

The hiring manager called me and wanted to go over my resume. I went to Open House and interview with the same hiring manager 4 days later. I was asked 6 basic question, which were about could I: pass background, drug screening(if asked the same day), did I have reliable transportation, a valid drivers licensed and could I pass a physical....He asked did I have any questions and that concluded the interview.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Saint Paul, MN (took 5 days)
I received a call for an interview 3 days after applying for this position on Careerbuilder.com. I met with the Store Manager 20 minutes after our scheduled interview time. We discussed my experience, skills and what I was looking for. Then he went over what was entailed to the position. The sales incentatives were miscommunicated to me at this time. I was advised that there would be several opportunities and the earning potential were endless. I found out that this was a lie as I am now an employee. After the 1st interview, a week later I was asked to meet with District Manager. We sat down and went over the exact same stuff as the last with the Store Manager. I was advised they would call me within 3 days. Didn't hear from anyone until 2 weeks later. Then I was offered the job and I took it.

Interviewed Mar 2011 (took 4 weeks)
I attended a 2 day Open House at a Firestone store location. I filled out a paper application and completed a very easy skills/personality test. Anyone can pass the test. When I was done with the app/test I met with the District Manager. He did most of the talking. The only questions that I can remember him asking were:
What do you want to do for a job/career?
Would you be willing to work on Saturdays/Sundays?
Would you be willing to work overtime if needed?
He also asked me to walk him through my resume, which took a couple minutes. Very easy. No stress.
Then I waited around for about a week. The DM called me and asked me to come back in to chat with a Store Manager. Again, a very easy/laid back chat and question session. He basically told me about the job/company. Asked me if I had any questions. And that was it. No effort on my part.
After the second chat/meeting I waited around for about a week again. No call yet. So I figured I would contact the DM on the phone. I left him a message and said I was still interested and wanted to know if I was still being considered. The DM called me back about 2-3 days later and told me to meet with him to go over an offer. He presented the offer and I accepted.
After accepting the offer I had to get a drug test/physical. They also had to run a background check. Took about another week.
So, the whole process took about 4 weeks from 1st interview to actually starting to work in a store.
It was a very easy/laid back process. If you have a college degree and/or some retail/sales/customer service experience then you should be able to get the job. Good luck!
Interview Questions
Are you willing to work overtime?
Negotiation Details

Interviewed Apr 2009 (took 2 weeks)
Interviewed for the Retail Internship. It first consisted of an interview with the assistant district manger. We mostly talked about what the internship offered and why I wanted to work for Firestone. Also, asked me about my previous work history. A week later I had to interview with the district manager. He talked to me about the store operations and how much money Firestone retail managers make. He spent over an hour talking to me about Firestone. I didn't get an offer, but it was a good experience.

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Corvallis, OR (took 4 weeks)
Spoke with service manager initially, who recommended I talk to the store manager the next day. Interview consisted of questions regarding technical experience, along with a slightly long application with approvals for background checks and the like and a 4 page skills test. Then a half hour chat with the SM regarding goals and possible positions available. Official job offer will follow results of a drug test.
Overall a very easy interview process.
