Interviewed Apr 2011 in Tallahassee, FL (took 1 week)
I went to a Career fair at my school and met with the district manager. I passed along my resume and got a phone call from him telling me that I was a great candidate and that I should expect a phone call from the HQ. During the phone call, I spoke with the recruiter who told me about the position and some of the requirements and asked me about myself. afterwards I was told to take a skills/personality assessment. Next came the one on one interview, I learned the basics of how the company works and what would be expected of me.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
I chose to decline the offer because the job was different than I thought it would have been. Having to go out and randomly find prospects to talk about the retirement packages and everything else just wasn't what I wanted to do with my finance degree. If there was someone to generate leads for me, it would have been a different story.
Other Details
I got the interview through a College or University and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Personality Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took a day)
Interviewed with district manager and recruiter. Discussed what the company was about as well as the job. Was not impressed with the DM or the building they were located in. Looked like it was in need of alot of maintenance and repair.... as well as a good cleaning. Also, didn't feel like it was a fit for me... just not looking for another "opportunity" to make 100k. That's code for you'll need to contact all of your friends and family and try and recruit them into buying your products. Just not interested.

Interviewed Aug 2010 (took 3 weeks)
First, I received a phone interview then i was called in for a one and one interview. I was then called in for a skills and personality test. After passing that, the employer wants to meet with my networking group and invited to pay for lunch, i found that the be kind of odd and weird.

Interviewed Oct 2008 (took 1+ week)
The company recruiting officer for the NE region contacted me via phone. He'd seen my resume on CareerBuilder.com. He was offering me an opportunity to be an advisor. However, I knew my personal limitations and skill set enough to know I would not do well as an advisor. Therefore, I offered the recruiter my listing of strengths and indicated my interest in a support role. Within 10 minutes, I had a callback. Within a week, I had a personal interview. Within 11 days, I was hired. Each office (outside the corporate headquarters) is proprietary. Therefore, it's important to look at any and all offices within your area to see how they operate. That will help you determine where you'd like to base your practice as an advisor. Another benefit of being an advisor is that your practice can transfer to any other FCFP office in the US. There are also offices in Europe and in Japan and Guam.

Negotiation Details
My role is not that of a financial advisor or planner. Therefore, I don't believe my experience would correlate with those individuals.

I met the recruiter at a college job fair, he was a nice enough guy. We had the interview there, went over my resume talked etc. He was easy enough to talk to and I didn't feel uneasy at all which was very nice.

3 stage interview. Phone, 1:1 and after passing personality profile test
meeting the DOA and getting "blessed". Lots of time and effort to get into
this organization.

Reason for Declining
Found out that the company was not honest about providing the necessary support to its advisors.
Lots of unkept promises. Also found out that they have a terrible retention rate. The place is a revolving door.
