Application Details

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days - interviewed at First Investors Corporation in October 2010.

Interview Details

I believe there was an initial phone call simply to schedule the interview and ask a few basic questions about my background. There were two on-site interviews after. The first one was a very long presentation about the company and its benefits. This might have been about 2 hours as candidates were pulled away for 1 on 1 interviews afterward while filling out a very lengthy application (bring multiple resumes so you can reference your experience). This was very basic and asked what you like about the company and position. It's entrepreneurship and sales-based so stick to those skills and experiences you have. It was with the regional director. The second round occurred the next day and was a 1 on 1 with one of the representatives higher up. This was more in-depth and about 30-45 minutes long. They will give you some things to consider the night before (homework) and the questions were based a lot off of those. Just prove that you have unlimited drive and motivation to exceed all expectations.

Reasons for Declining

I don't want to go into sales or a commissioned job at the moment. Not very interested in financial services.
