    Trainer Interview

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at First National Bank Texas (Killeen, TX).

    Interview

Pre-interview-Spoke to a recruiter and she asked my basic preliminary questions: "What salary are you looking for?"

First interview-Typical interview questions over contents on my resume: "Explain more about your position at..."

Second interview-Interview questions over the trainer position: "What are three qualities that make a good trainer?"

Third interview- Powerpoint presentation given to employees from different departments (HR, Learning and Development, Finance, etc), I had to create a 15-20 minute presentation over customer service. After my presentation I had a group interview with the same employees I had given my presentation to. They asked questions regarding the position; "Why do you think you would be a good trainer?" After my presentation I had a one-on-one interview with my "would-be" manager if I got the position, she asked questions regarding the trainer position as well: "Would you mind traveling?" After my one-on-one interview with the manager I sat down to speak/interview with two current trainers, they just asked about my educational background and I spoke to them about what the position actually entails.

Fourth (final) interview-45 minute facilitation presentation given to the same employees from my third interview, however this time I presented their material on customer service, it was extremely interactive. After my presentation I had a group interview with the employees I had given my facilitation presentation to (they were mainly looking to see if I took the feedback from my last presentation into account and improved on my presentation skills). They asked follow-up questions regarding the position: "Do you have anymore questions about the position?" After the group interview I spoke with the two current trainers again.

    Interview Questions

    • Most difficult aspect of the interview was the nerves of giving a 15-20 minute presentation. (Difficult interview process in general, however I can understand the different steps of the interview providing good insight into the candidate's ability to do the job.)   Answer Question

    Negotiation

They gave me a base salary, and asked if I would accept it. I think there would have been room to negotiate however I did not.
