I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at Fitness First.

    Interview

I was referred by another instructor who was currently working there, met with the GFM and was given a trial class which then became permanent. Once you have a 'foot in the door' it is relatively easy to pick up extra classes at other gyms

    Interview

Was asked to be interviewed two times. The first interview was the head of Marketing whom was very friendly. Our interview first took place at coffee shop. The interview was very laid back and was asked a variety of typical questions Strengths, Weakness, Successful projects that you have handled. The second interview dealt with more technical questions since this was digital position job. Asked about my knowledge in CMS platforms

    Club General Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Sydney (Australia)
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Fitness First (Sydney (Australia)) in September 2012.

    Interview

2 hour phone interview on a weekend first followed by a half day in a group session then a speed date type one on one with HR. Pretty informal, not very professional. The group session was started by a long, indulgent diatribe by a state menager espousing how great the fitness industry was and how great Fitness First was. It was odd because he was exceptionally overweight yet so superior in his language about being healthy. It was quite an uninspirational session really and bordered on the infantile. By the time I got to the one on one I was over it. It was not an organisation I was interested in. It also took them an exceptional amount of time to get back to me to tell me I had been unsuccessful but by then I had moved on, forgotten about them an secured a role paying 50% more than they were offering. I openly laughed at the flunky who called me with fake regret.
