Pretty much straight on interview. Asked me about experience, academics and what kind of things I wanted to go after as a journalist. They seemed interested in all of my answers. I think they know they hold most of the cards. They're a national magazine and there are gobs of qualified writers out there.

Interviewed Jan 2009 in New York, NY (took a day)
The interview was very informal and easy going. First I met with the HR person who had called me regarding the interview and she actually recommend that my skill set may have been more fitting of another opportunity available within the firm. So the people in charge of the circulation group came in and we discussed my skill set and the current needs and responsibilities. We went on to discuss how my skills could be applied and then why I was interested in the job. Very simple but looking for an enthusiastic person.
