Interviewed Feb 2012 in Mumbai (India) (took 1+ week)
My interview process was consist of 3 Rounds. Two rounds were technical and one for HR. Technical interview was mostly based on the technologies mentioned in the resume. First round was the introductory technical round which was mainly to check the approach to problem solving techniques and also flexibility for new technologies. It also contain some basic technology specific question. Second round was core technical round based on my technologies that I have mentioned in my resume. It was very good and the standard of question was very nice. The best part is that all the questions are relevant to your technologies and work experience and you don't feel like drilling for a long time and if your basics are clear you can easily qualify it.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Mumbai (India) (took 2 weeks)
The hiring process is structured and the HR is considerate with the interview scheduling. 5 different rounds were planned. It all started with an initial HR filter round followed by three telephonic rounds and video conferencing with the TL & different heads. You are rated at each round and as per the final rating the job band is decided.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Mumbai (India) (took 5 days)
They are very professional people , They asked in and out of what I am doing. The job role which they were looking for was exactly the same i am doing currently. They asked me everything of my present role.
It consisted of one skill check and process related round of the topics which I am doing in my current role.
Then They took my one 1:1 round which was with one of the directors of the company
the there was a cross functional round which was taken by a person of some other team in Fractal and not by the person of the team for which they were considering me .
Then there was finally an HR round .
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
They had not even discussed my salary expectations and one fine day I received a mail from HR fractal which consists of my offer letter and joining date.
When I opened the attachment i found that the salary offered to me by them is almost equal to my current salary. I reverted them by mail asking them to have a discussion on my salary and till then I never recieved any reply from them. This seems like very unprofessional and it was never expected from a company like Fractal which has a good repute in Analytics.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Mumbai (India) (took 3 days)
I was called in during a recruitment drive at the Goregaon office. I reached at around 10:30 am and was told to go straight to a conference room where there were around 15 more candidates. The HR handed us the written test paper and gave us 30 mins time to solve it. Once she came back after grading the papers, the results were so consistent that the HR actually accused us of cheating! That is extremely unprofessional behavior in my opinion.
Once that was done I finally had my interview at 3 pm. Even between the 11-3, the same HR came in to the conference room eating lunch, taking personal calls, discussing other candidates in front of the shortlisted candidates in the conf. room. All in all I found this behavior extremely unprofessional.
Even during the interview, the interviewer constantly kept showing his superiority instead of actually assessing my skills. For e.g. Fractal does a lot of statistical analysis and modeling and I had worked on a statistical model in a one-month internship that I had done at some other place. The model was one of the many things I had worked on during that internship. When the interviewer asked me about the the model, I answered with everything I had studied and worked on. He kept asking me such detailed questions which only someone who has worked on those models day in and day out would know. And whenever I got stuck on a particular question, I saw a smirk on the interviewer's face. Even the other questions were completely unrelated. I was interviewing for a CPG position, and the interviewer kept asking me questions about financial statement analysis.
It was a very unprofessional and unpleasant experience for me.

Interviewed Feb 2011 (took 4 months)
The position was not posted on job-sites, I was contacted by someone at the company who had heard about me. Since the role would engage with people around the company in different cross-functional areas and across time zones, that took place over multiple interviews by phone and in person. There was a lot of discussion and open dialogue and I felt I had a lot of input into shaping the role to meet the needs of the company's growth. Everyone was very smart, open, engaging, affirming, considerate, professional, etc. Great group of people which is a big reason I was attracted to join despite having a long-term stable job elsewhere.
