Interviewed Aug 2010 in Wilsonville, OR (took 3 weeks)
Consisted of 3 interviews, 2 at the same location and 1 at a different place. The first one was pretty easy, it seemed like they were trying to figure out if you understood the type of work that the position does and if you were ok doing it. The second is usually with the department manager of the department you are going to work for. This was a little bit more challenging because the questions become more specific towards the type of work you will be doing and the knowledge of the products that the department has. The third and final one is probably the easiest yet the hardest at the same time. The interviewer was very straight forward and picked apart every answer that I gave, trying to make sure that I knew what I was talking about. The interviewer made some comments that seemed harsh but it turns out it is a way to see how you react under pressure. In my personal opinion, the best part about the job was the people that worked there. Every one is friendly and helpful and they all understand what you are talking about when it comes to any aspect of the job.

Recevied a call the night before the interview and telling me about the time, location and dress code. I gone through 3 1-on-1 interviews on the same day, all asking similar questions like why picking Fry's, how well do I know about electronics and computers, the department that I would like to get in, my availability, my privious educaation and working exp., etc. A drug test and backgroud test is required for hiring.

Somehow, they had me as not having completed my drug test even though I had. It took a lot of work to keep them from just throwing out my application and giving me a shot. Apparently they had to go through corporate to get things worked out. I did finally get interview after about a month. I was interviewed by 3 managers from the Electronic components department during the same visit. They were all encouraging and positive and really cool in general, mostly probing me to see how much knowledge I had about computer components. They offered me the position that day.

I applied with an application, there were 3 interviews, I applied for computer tech. They hired me into computer sales. Don't expect to get the position you applied for, that rarely happens.
