First a phone interview, then a day of several 1-on-1 interviews with HR and managers.

so, there was few women and even less POC.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Dallas, TX Mar 2012 – Reviewed Jun 30, 2012
Interview Details – There were two interviews on different days. The first was immediately following the career fair and the second was offered after that based on how the first interview went. The first consisted of two people and was a typical straightforward interview. The second time, they flew me to Dallas; there was a tour of the facilities, a presentation, and I interviewed with several people from different branches of the company. The work culture was fantastic, everyone knew everyone and were as nice as they could possibly be. Me and another student who were on the same flight that got delayed so we missed the lunch they cooked for all the interviewees so they insisted on ordering us a pizza when we arrived.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Wayne, NJ Oct 2009 – Reviewed Jun 3, 2012
Interview Details – I was first contacted by a GAF internal recruiter who had found my resume on Linked In. They conducted a quick screening interview over the phone and then asked that I come in to their Wayne office for a full day of interviews 8am-4pm. They had me meet with 7 people, 1-hour interview per person making up a very FULL and exhausting day. The interviews were all behavioral and each person was searching out a slightly different skill area. They turn around with an offer very quickly after that day long session of interviews, I think I had an offer presented within a week if not a few days after.
Interview Questions
Negotiation Details – Negotiations were fast paced and they wanted to close quickly. I was ultimately able to gain a significant increase in salary and signing bonus.
No Offer – Interviewed in Ennis, TX Jul 2010 – Reviewed Dec 5, 2011
Interview Details – Initially contacted by phone to schedule phone screen. Phone screened. Several weeks to maybe a month passed before I heard from the site to schedule an on-site interview. The onsite interview was an all day process where I met and interviewed with 7 staff, had lunch with staff and toured the facilities. The interviews and meetings went well. I followed-up immediately with thank you letters to all. After not hearing anything after a couple of weeks, I emailed the hiring manager who indicated they had not made a decision. A month went by and I checked back with the hiring manager who told me they still had not made a decision. After three months, I requested a decision from the hiring manager within a specified time frame and never received a response. Very poor showing of professionalism from the company and the hiring manager to simply not provide feedback or response after spending such time and energy.
Interview Question – I was asked about my strategy for engaging employees in safety management programs. Behavior based. View Answer

Interview Details –
The phone interview lasted approximately forty-five minutes and seemed, from my perspective, to go well. The recruited received feedback that the interview had gone well from the company's perspective also and that an in-person interview would be scheduled. After hearing nothing for two weeks, I finally received word from the recruiter that the company was impressed with my background but had decided to pass on my application.
Overall, the experience got off to a good start but a less than satisfying ending.
