Interviewed Mar 2010 (took 4+ weeks)
It starts with a telephonic interview. If they are satisfied with the performance, they call you to site for a presentation. This is a followed by a 1:1 interview with around 6-7 people.
It takes time before they take a decision and you have to keep waiting.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Niskayuna, NY (took a day)
There were two phone interviews and then an onsite interview. The procedure was fast and I got to hear back from the hiring manager very promptly after the interviews. There were a lot of technical questions in both the phone interviews. They seem to be very thorough about checking the technical background of the candidate. The onsite interview consisted of technical presentation, technical interview, panel interview and a number of 1:1 interviews.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
Received an email from HM about potential employment and set up a time for phone interview. The process started very dry without any small talk and the very 1st question was whether I need a sponsorship to work, which wasn't motivating for an international student like myself. I was not being informed whether the interview will be technical or behavior oriented. Questions were asked randomly from my resume as well as about my motivation to work in GE and so on. One of the questions expressed their doubt since my degree is not exactly from ME although my resume says so clearly, but my skill sets do match the job requirements quite well. In general it wasn't a good experience and I think the organization of the process is quite poor. This is one of my 1st formal job interviews and I am not very experienced and prepared either. Could do better in the future. Haven't heard anything back yet after one month and I think that wasn't nice either. Anyways a decline letter will appear more professional.
