HR got resume from colleagues outside Genentech. Usual HR screening: Gauging interest, assessing technical, project/people management experience. Felt like HR went through requirements one by one of job description and was effectively checking boxes. HR cautioned me that Genentech is slow to hire. Second interview with hiring manager was painful, strained, all about technical problem solving. No discussion of mgmt experience and long-term career objectives.
