The interview was kind of disappointing. The interviewers saw my resume for the first time, when I walked in. There was no real scope of what they wanted from the position. The only thing I can remember from the interview was that the customer they supported was very demanding. Interviewers did not seem prepared, one of panel members was late for the interview.

I received an email form a Supervisor regarding my interest in the position. He set up an interview which consisted of my technical background. Afterwards a interview was scheduled with the Program Manager which consisted of goals and where the program stood and where it was going. I received an email from a Human Resources rep scheduled an appointment and received an offer after that. Straight forward process nice people to deal with.

The hiring process was very personal. I met directly with the person who would have been my manager, as well as her manager. Everyone was very honest and straightforward about the company's expectations, the skills required to do the job, the position responsibilities, the salary, etc. They were open to discussing compensation options as well. The interviewers asked specific questions regarding my experience doing exactly what I would be expected to do at General Dynamics, which was a true test of my knowledge and experience (rather than your typical "what's your biggest weakness" type questions). It was a refreshing interview, somewhat challenging, but it felt tailored to the position and the time spent answering direct questions seemed very worthwhile.

I applied for the postion, and I was contacted within 30 minutes by a recruiter. The recruiter interview was broken up into two days. The first day was mostly discussing details of the program, benefits, and my salary requirements. The salary range was a little low for what I needed, but with a little negotiating I was able to get it close enough. The next day the recruiter asked me some basic sceening type questions, and that was all. He then set me up with a technical interview with a hiring manager. The questions were directed towards help desk and active directory. The interview went smooth. It was 8 days from my first interview untl the last one. I was contacted 6 days later, and told that the position was filled by an internal. I was then offered a Sr. Help Desk job, but the salary was too low.

I received an interview through my network contacts. Once I started explring a possible position at General Dynamics I was in contact with the hiring manager from the start. He flew me to the corporate headquarters and I had a day of interviews and briefings on the company cpabilities. Once I decided to go with the company I had a drug test and background investigation both of which only took a couple of days. It was less than a week from the time I decided to when I start work. Very smooth process.
Negotiation Details
I was given the salary I asked for no need to negotiate. The other benefits are standard for all employees.

At the personal interview, the interviewer reviewed my qualifications, job experience, and knowledge of the equipment and information we would be dealing with. He then explained the job, explained the pay and benefits, gave me an opportunity to ask questions. At the conclusion, he offered me the job , which I accepted
