After the referral, I was called in for an interview within the week. Had a 1:1 interview with the section manager, then a 1:1 interview with a tech lead. Both asked standard interview questions, and there were no technical questions asked at all (besides things like "do you know about xxxx?"). The interviews took about 1.5 hours. I heard from my referrer that both people were impressed with me, and asked HR to start the hiring process. This is where things went sour: HR dragged their feet for 2.5 months, coming up with many different lame excuses, such as not being able to verify a job I had even though I provided a name and contact number. I'm not sure why they were doing this, but it was definitely beyond frustrating. Finally an upper manager got involved, and within a week I was given the job.

Initially it was with Human Resources and (2) members of the selection team. I was called back two weeks later and interviewed by HR and (2) other members of the team. After the interview, I was provided a tour of the facility and introduced to a variety of employees and management .
I was offered a job before leaving.

Very informal with direct supervisor, and department head.
Process was very slow,and communication with HR was not good.
I specifically indicated to HR that they were not to contact my current employer so as not to strain my relationship with them. GDLS HR did not honor that request and let the cat out of the bag before I was ready to inform my current employer or decide it I was going to accept the position or not. Tense and uncomfortable meetings followed, but thankfully I was able to work it out, and accepted the GDLS position.
Generally, the HR department at GDLS is useless, and farms out all of their responsibilities to outside companies.

Vacation was non negotiable, and sucks at 80 hours.

Was an internal posting for a job. Moving from hardware and software integration and development to my current postion. Job was sold on previous expirience (not just with-in the company), being able to formulate expiriences with how it will apply for the job you're looking for is invaluable. The management was interesting in bringing in high level talent, and improving internal product knowledge.

The phone interview was with the project manager and several developers. It was a high-level technical interview where they first talked about the sort of work I could expect to do there. I wasn't asked the puzzle-type programming questions but was asked to explain the projects I'd worked on and my roles in those projects.

I was contacted by a recruiter. After several phone screen interviews with him, I was asked to meet him via a web-cam teleconference. After passing all this, I was invited to interview with the customer. In the end, they decided not to hire anyone at all. The process was a large waste of time.
