Interviewed Apr 2012 in Tampa, FL (took a day)
Phone Interview then face to face. Met with 3 people there. All except one were more interested in their own agenda and we talked more about their experiences personally than my own and what I could bring to the table. Very disappointing. I walked away with the feeling that there was dissention in the ranks and everyone was very tense.

Interviewed Nov 2011 (took 2 months)
Phone interview with a recruiter (non-Gerdau employee). Regular resume questions followed by all behavioral questions. Be ready for things on things like teamwork (multiple), safety, communications, leadership examples. Questions were all real straightforward. Took approximately 45 minutes. Recruiter was very friendly; obviously was typing responses as you said them, so may want to be aware if they're not talking because they're typing, or expecting you to say more. Took about two months to receive e-mail I didn't get selected.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Tampa, FL (took 5+ weeks)
Terrible experience. Got onsite interview call.
Flew down to Tampa to appear final round interview as Gerdau paid travel charges
The most ridiculous experience - Hiring Manager told that I will get feedback within 2 weeks
Interview schedules are very erratic - Not well structured
Finally they gave feedback after 40 days and told that they have offered position to internal candidate.
Very funny. Not sure why they called external candidates ??
Interview experience - Seems senior leaders are not happy with company. got couple of negative remarks during interview
Interviewers are not clear about company's strategy
No discussion about Salary as well.

Interviewed Oct 2008 (took 2 months)
The interview was one hour long with three interviewers asking questions. I think two of them were former participats of their program and the other one was an HR. They were very formal and not very friednly. I was told I should hear from them in a couple of weeks but did not hear back anything for a long time although I send a couple of emails.

Interviewed Jul 2008 (took 2 weeks)
The process of interviewing was very disorganized with purpose not clear with each interviewer. Each interviewer had a different style, but none asked any questions of substance. One person even asked what kind of car i drive and said that he could tell a lot about a person based on the type car they drove.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Tampa, FL (took 3 weeks)
I had a series of phone and on-site interviews. I first had a phone interview with the hiring manager which went real well a good repore was established and the opportunity sounded exciting and challenging. I was next scheduled for an on-site interview with the Director of IT, a couple of peers and the team I would manage. This series of interviews went real well. From the Director and Peers it was the standard tell me about yourself and then specific scenario based questions. From the team it was a two way interview they asking questions about my management style and how I was going to support them and me asking about issues, concerns and expectations. I next was scheduled for an interview with another Sr. Level Director with some of the same scenario based questions and such. It was after this interview that we started salary negotiations and I was very surprised that the salary question came this late into the process. The company is a good company and they have a good work culture. Bottom line is that we could not come to terms on salary.
