The Store manager took me in his office and had me fill out paper work consisting of personal information. They make you take a personality test when you fill out the application online. I continuously walked into the store asking to meet with the store manager and received an interview with him.

Interviewed Feb 2007 in Fairfax, VA (took a day)
the hiring process was fairly simple. applied as a walk in and then was called back for an interview with the store manager. She asked several questions about past work experience and what I was looking for, availability and transportation. Called back a week later to go in for training.

It was a quick process, a lady called me, gave me a date to come for an interview, went to the interview, declined their offer because I was looking for something else.

Easy and straight forward. It's a union job but I dont see how it benefits the employee...low payrate and a long time to wait for benefits to kick in ...but union dues are taken immediately.
