Interviewed Jan 2008 in Nashville, TN (took 3 months)
I sent a cold-call letter to the company, expressing my interest in employment. About 10 weeks later, after having heard nothing, someone from their HR department called, and said the the CEO would like a phone interview with me. I did the phone interview, and the next step was an in-person interview. I suggested that I could save the company travel expenses, as I was going to be in Memphis (3 hours away) and I would drive to Nashville for the interview. I also made it clear that I would have to be done the interview by 12:30 PM at the latest to make my return flight. I arrived at 9:00 AM and met with the HR manager. I learned that he was a recent hire and asked him how he liked it so far. "umm... it... er... interesting," he said. He said the CEO had balled him out for not spending enough hours there. Red Flag. Then I proceeded to take some type of personality test, which I'm sure had many questions which were illegal for an employer to ask. Finally, around noon, the CEO sauntered in, picked up my resume from the HR guy, then disappeared down the hall. At 12:35 (!), he called me in for the interview. I was supposed to be gone already. Had a decent interview (though I felt rushed) in his beautiful office, and he offered me the job, though we didn't get as far as negotiating salary. I sped all the way back to Memphis and made my flight with literally 2 minutes to spare. Whew!

Reason for Declining
About 30 minutes after the interview, I had the feeling I was going to hate the job if I took it. So I declined it. From what I've read since then, that was a VERY good decision!
Other Details
I applied In-Person and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview and a Personality Test.
