Interviewed Jul 2010 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 4 weeks)
First interview was informal with questions centering around prior experience and educational background
Team interviews consisted of questions like: Why Goldman Sachs; Why Asset Management; If I gave you 1 million dollars how would you invest it; Within the team what group most interests you and why, etc etc
More technical questions centered around knowledge pertaining to the CFA. Such as; What is Duration, What is Convexity; If I was a plumber how would you describe convexity to me; Price this bond, etc etc
Additionally, the team also threw out brain teasers

Interviewed Jan 2008 (took 4+ weeks)
I submitted my resume to a financial analyst that was leaving before her contract was up. A NY recruiter called me to set up a time for a phone interview. She called me back 3 or 4 days later to set up an in-person interview also known as a 'super day'. I interviewed with 8 people (took the entire day). They asked basic questions and questions about the market. Nothing too crazy. They called me a week later to meet with the manager for a quick lunch. Everyone was very professional.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in New York, NY (took 3 days)
Goldman Sachs only appears to be interested in hiring people from target schools or those that have industry experience. While this is not a bad strategy, it does cause them to miss out on other talent. Coming from a non target school, I learned to develop a high work ethic and people skills that you do not automatically learn from a target school. Combine this with my leadership experience, extracurricular activities, and near perfect GPA and I am a well rounded candidate. I was picked up by Morgan Stanley shorty after this interview process and look forward to competing with Goldman. Be to sell yourself and answer many brain teasers if you are interviewing with Goldman and try not to be intimidated by their aggressive personalities.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Chicago, IL (took a day)
She asked some behavior questions and also some technical questions. She was especially interested in teamwork experiences and asked me to give a detailed description of my prior teamwork project. Also, she asked if I have stayed updated with the recent market and know how stock prices changed. She friendly asked me who is going to speak on our graduation ceremony and commented on Obama's visit to UMichigan. She introduced the working culture of Goldman Sachs, which is a friendly and talent-driven working environment.

Interviewed Jun 2009 in Pittsburgh, PA (took 3 weeks)
This was the longest process ever...I had five interviews with six people. The people were friendly but they do test you on past experiences, what frustrates you, and other personality questions that can throw you off if you are not prepared. Also, be prepared for a drug test and an extensive background test on former employees, academic achievements, etc.

Negotiation Details

Interviewed Mar 2009 (took 2+ weeks)
The interviewer was very nice and gave me the impression that she wanted to hear what I had to say. The hiring was down for that year and I got the standard, "we're not hiring this year, but we'd like to have you apply again next year." Right place at the wrong time basically sums it up.
